Interesting things said in this Lincoln Project podcast.

Dems really need to change things, or they won’t win. Only way they do well in 26/28 is if Trump 2 is a complete disaster.

Democrats need to learn loyalty. Thats the change they need. Someone should have been more forceful in demanding Biden not debate. They let him debate. Then when he didn’t show well they acquiesced to media demands that he step aside. But when he stepped aside they picked Harris, which bless her heart, was not the most personable candidate. She lost badly the last time she ran for election. They should have knew better. They should have stuck with Biden and called his dementia fake news. I mean, we could have seen it but people don’t follow the news the way ESrs do. Bidens name recognition could have shifted just enough of the votes his way to secure a democratic victory.

Democrats need to learn loyalty. Thats what they really need. Gaetz is a molester but the republicans didn’t give up on him, he is going to be running for tr Senate, and the republicans will back him.

The Dems need to stop letting party elites hand pick candidates. They should have been calling for delegates to pick candidates.

They look like the party of entitlement, seems like each next candidate appears as if they’re they deserve to be the next instead of the people having a voice.

First of all, Trump 2 is going to be a shitshow so Dems need to be ready for the pendulum swing as early as the midterms.

I don't like the idea of party line loyalty the GOP does...Gaetz should be on a sex offender list, not a ballot for senate, fuck him.

But 100% Hillary and Harris made the same "its my turn" mistake. Nobody cares who turn it is, this country has made that clear twice now in less then a decade.

Back off trying to make everyone happy and think about what everyone needs...make it bumpersticker level clear and keep pushing out the old heads for new younger leadership. Blocking AOC from that oversight position for some old fuck with cancer is the opposite of that.

They'll learn nothing, never do. They hate winning, don't have an identity, and are just trying to protect the Capitalist Dream for as long as they can.

Their strategy was "Country over Party", the people running against me are fascists, but yes, we will work with them and allow them in the cabinet. Then when that failed, they attacked the minorities within the party for not being thrilled with their campaign message.

Biden messed up by not running in 2016. Shouldve told Obama and Hillary to pound sand. While Trumps America First platform had appeal, I think Biden wouldve beaten him by a smidge in 2016.

And then he shouldve stepped aside in early 22 and given Harris a chance to show that she could do the job. But who knows how that relationship was, and its tough to get someone with an ego at that level to step aside.

Dems might do ok in 26, if the country gets as tired of Trump 2 as it did of Trump 1 in 18. And although Vance did a good job in the VP debate, the Dems will have a charismatic candidate to go against him.

It's this pendulum swing that makes democracy unappealing to some countries in the world.
