Police: Ex-Con Arrested For Bologna Battery

An ex-con is locked up without bond for an alleged bologna sandwich battery, Florida police report.

Oquavious Chandler, a 29-year-old convicted felon, was arrested Sunday following a confrontation with his stepfather over the accused man’s use of a PlayStation 5.

According to a criminal complaint, the victim told cops he removed the gaming system from Chandler’s bedroom because he “was being too loud” while using the PS5. “The victim stated that the defendant became aggressive and began to yell at him,” cops reported.

The victim, 62, said that while he was being yelled at, Chandler “threw a bologna sandwich at him, which ultimately hit him in the center of his chest.” The man, investigators added, “had no visible injuries” from the bologna strike (which he video recorded on his phone)

Seen above, Chandler, who was on probation at the time of his January 26 bust, reportedly confessed to the bologna toss inside his Wildwood residence.

Stripper, 22, Busted For Banana Battery At 7-Eleven Store

A 7-Eleven customer used a banana to batter a store clerk, according to Florida police.

Caltaeviya Turner, 22, got into a “verbal altercation” with the 30-year-old female worker and the women exchanged “derogatory comments towards each other,” according to a police report.

At one point, Turner “became irate” and “picked up a banana from the cashier counter and threw the banana at the victim’s face.”

The airborne fruit struck the employee “on the cheek bone and left a minor abrasion,” investigators noted. The banana was not seized as evidence.

Turner was arrested Thursday for battery and booked into the county jail on the misdemeanor count. Police records list Turner’s employer as Baby Dolls, a Clearwater gentleman’s club located four miles from the 7-Eleven outlet.

Florida airport could resemble ‘The Jetsons’ with flying cars

Like something you’d see in the utopian future of TV’s “The Jetsons,” Orlando International Airport is trying to realize a long-desired dream of bringing flying cars to the region.

The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority on Wednesday took steps toward that future by seeking partners to develop and operate a flying car landing pad — called a vertiport — at the airport. The invitation is expected to publish in March with a 2028 target for a finished product.

The airport expects to put the vertiport on land in the East Airfield region on the northeast side or land on the south side near the train station, according to a news release.

Airport spokesperson Angela Starke said by email that inviting partners will help the airport gather information such as costs to build the vertiport. At present the aviation authority has no budget for the project.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, a member of the aviation authority, said the city is a global leader in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) — the technology behind flying cars — and having the hub at the airport makes sense.

“We envision the airport to be a multimodal hub of the future,” Dyer said. “That means expanding the SunRail to the airport, Brightline from there to Tampa and making sure we have readied the airport as a vertihub of the future.”

He said vertiports may help manage the city’s growth, but that’s much farther off. He envisions starting with a four- to six-passenger vehicle operating out of the airport and eventually corridors for flying cars will follow. The small aircraft are expected to use electric power, and take off and land vertically.

“You can’t just have a vertiport at the airport, you have to have places for the vehicles to go from the airport to downtown Orlando or Tampa,” Dyer said. “I think before we see ‘The Jetsons’ this is going to be developed slowly.”

But not too slowly, if the mayor has his way.

After the first vertiport is established at the airport in three years, he said another in the downtown area is a real possibility soon after. Eventually he hopes to have a manufacturing facility in the city as well.

Seems like a bad idea. Have you seen how bad people are at driving in two dimensions? Adding a vertical dimension sounds like a recipe for disaster, especially in Florida with all the old people who can't see and are easily discombobulated.

Mechanical gator riding, lawnmower races and more: What to know about The Florida Man Games

Florida's very own Olympic Games kicks off in less than a week.

The Florida Man Games, known for its unusual and disgustingly on-brand events, returns for its second year.

Teams from across Florida will battle it out for the snakeskin championship belt by participating and competing in multiple events, including human beer pong, eat the butt challenge, mechanical gator riding and more.

The athletic event, inspired by the "Florida Man" internet meme, will be held at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds in Elkton, over 60 miles east of Gainesville on March 1.

Last year, teams went head-to-head in challenges like weaponized pool noodle mud dueling, an “evading arrest” obstacle course, a category 5 hurricane winds cash grab and beer belly Florida sumo wrestling.

The evading arrest obstacle course will return to the 2025 games, along with new challenges like “the Florida sumo cage match,” and enough space for tailgating.

Attendees were also able to get in on the fun, getting the chance to participate in various activities like the “Florida Ma’am” pinup competition, chicken bingo and a mullet competition.

Happy birthday, Florida!

he state of Florida turns 180 on March 3.

The Sunshine State became the 27th state in the United States on March 3, 1845.

According to the Florida Department of State, William D. Moseley was elected the state’s first governor, and David Levy Yulee, one of Florida’s leading proponents for statehood, became a U.S. Senator.

Beginning in the 1870s, residents from northern states visited Florida as tourists to enjoy the state’s natural beauty and mild climate.

The state reptile is the American Alligator, and the state animal is the Florida Panther.

The state bird is currently the Mockingbird, even though a bill was filed earlier this year to change it to the American Flamingo.

FBI agents reported Richard Kantwill sent more than 100 threats to 40 victims in retaliation to their political commentary.

Kantwill, 61, wrote the threats of injury and death even after FBI special agents intervened and asked him to stop.

Attorney General Merrick B. Garland referred to Kantwill’s messages as an “almost year-long campaign of terror.”
