Adam Peters on Marshon Lattimore: He came into a tough situation. He was injured, rehabbing, trying to meet new teammates. We saw him get better, and were really excited for him to have an offseason with us.

Lattimore's a dog. His reputation as a hyper physical corner is well known, and they wouldn't have traded for him if they didn't want that. They're trying to build the culture on D around dogs like him, and lack of physicality is why they got rid of guys like Forbes. He definitely fits in here.

The questions are more about has he lost a step because of age/injuries than if he's a fit. I think he's going to bounce back and be a hugely valuable player for the D next year if he can stay healthy.

These super handy grabby corners are being phased out. You want graceful smooth athletes.

The problem is that he's got a reputation, so anything even remotely close is gonna be a penalty. Teams can just throw at him on 3rd and long and have like a 50/50 shot at getting a DPI.

He's maybe a slight upgrade over St. Juste at this point, but with that said I am fine with bringing him back for another year and seeing if he can bounce back after an off season of getting healthy and acclimating with the system.

He did really good against the Lions. Pretty much shot his guy out. Guys like Brown and Evans are essentially impossible to cover one-on-one given today's rules. That's just the reality.

Playing the Eagles twice a year we're going to have to find away to stop the run while helping on Brown, especially on the outside. Hurts is most comfortable throwing the ball to the outside. Having Brown in one on one on the outside consistently is going to be a problem.

(It would also be nice to go find our own Brown/Evans.)

He had good coverage numbers against the Lions, but we played zone and he stuck to one side. Our staff wants to play more man coverage and Lattimore was supposed to let us do that, but so far it hasn't really panned out.

I don't think he is past his prime at 28, he has been a stud since entering the league. But the point about officials going after DBs who grab is a solid one, as well as his injury history. I'm still on board but I'm looking at him with a skeptical eye and hope for the best.

I'm good seeing what he's able to do with a full offseason to heal/learn the playbook.

That said, CB needs to be a priority for us in the offseason.

The dream is someone like Chevarious Ward or DJ Reed to man one outside CB spot, Lattimore, the other, move Sarinstil to slot full time, and bring Noah I back as backup slot/dime back.

Even then, I still wouldn't mind taking a CB in round 1 if he's the BAP. CB depth is critical in today's NFL.
