His description of him is not positive as a stack LB. He's a Luvu/Fowler replacement, but less effective against the run.

If a QB throws a ball, Fannin finds a way to catch it. What hands and tracking skills he has. Exciting to watch all of the highlight videos. Other than getting the ball, he isn't physical though whether getting off press and he can't really block.

My interest used to be easily snagged by guys like this. Prime example of a wr like that was Brandon Lloyd, a trade I highly endorsed because I watched him catch so many errant balls (I think thrown by a young alex smith) with such ease.

If memory serves, campbell was our QB at the time and I knew gibbs was invested in making jc work out and one of JC's issues was accuracy in a small window so I thought trading or drafting guys like Lloyd (among others) would be good in compensating for that particular QB weakness. But we don't have that issue with JD.

It seems like TEs (especially) or WRs that don't have the physicality associated with beating a press or blocking well aren't as likely to be durable overall, or dominate in contested catches, and can limit options in play calling or successful outcomes when your QB is improvising.

Been digesting some of the narratives behind some of these RBs -- in the context of building this brotherhood lockeroom that Quinn likes to espouse.

On that front: Neal, Harvey, T. Henderson, Sampson are very high intangible players.

I haven't digested all of these guys yet on that front but diving into it some those players really stand out as culture builders-good guys.

I went searching for you SIP when I found out that ES had been started back up. I thought I found you in the Commanders discord channel, but I'd be kind of surprised if that was you. I tried posting in the Discord draft channel maybe like two times, and let's just say the discussion wasn't as substantive and rewarding as our conversations on ES have been.

He's been posting on BGObsession.com, it's where he's put his Next Day Threads. A lot of ESers went over there and might be staying? Unclear. I only just found out ES has a spiritual successor.

Maybe pm him and let him know about this place? Be awesome to get him and any other esers to post here too.

Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss is a fun watch.

Great motor, moves well for a DT, good bend, can sink his hips and go low -- sometimes loses his balance though when going low.

Ole Miss had a great D line yet from what I was watching they mostly double teamed Nolen. With his size I gather more of a 3 technique type in the NFL. Looked well rounded including being stout against the run. 13 sacks combined in the last 2 years.

Doubting he falls to 29 but if he does he's on the table for me.

Yeah that's how I'm seeing him too. I want a well-rounded LB with the range to play in coverage and replace Bobby Wagner. That's why I like Jay Higgins, but he is a little on the small side. Same for Chris Paul Jr, but he's good too. If we start one of these smaller LBers, we're going to have to get better up front in order to stop the run.

Carson Bruener from UW is my late round sleeper LBer. He's a little undersized too, but he plays with his heart on his sleeve and he's fun. Looks like he'd be a really great special teamer, and a stud on kickoff coverage in particular. Good instincts, extremely good motor and effort level, especially running downfield in man coverage. Ferocious hitter. I kind of filed him away after seeing him pop watching Bralen Trice last year, and he had another good season in 2024.

I haven't watched him in some time, but wow Omarion Hampton. Stud. On the table for me at 29 if he even lasts to that spot.

Great vision. Power. Good enough speed. Contact balance. Good hands and is a weapon with the screen game. Good pass blocker. Complete back. No weaknesses.

I see some of his critics link him to being this power back without the wheels. I don't see that. He's not T. Henderson as far as speed. But he looks to me plenty fast. Will see next week though.

I would draft Hampton at 29.
