- Tyler Warren feels like a strong bet to be BPA if he is still there when we pick in the first round. Looks really special, and sometimes TEs are a bit devalued on draft day. He might be there, and he'd be a really great fit as a second high quality passing game weapon in our offense.

- I love Xavier Watts. I think he's the best defensive player in the draft and he'd be a super blue chip addition to a defense that needs high end talent in order to become championship caliber. I'm a Malaki Starks fan too, but I think Watts is head and shoulders better than him. Right now mocks have him going in the second round, and I don't really understand why. I would pick him at 27 in a heartbeat.

- I think the best linebacker in the class is Jay Higgins. He's getting mocked very late relative to his quality, and I think he feels like a massive value pick in rounds three or four. I think this guy is our eventual Bobby Wagner replacement.

- Andrew Mukuba is my second favorite DB in the class and he's currently getting mocked ~3rd round. This dude flashed as a freshman at Clemson and he's gotten consistently good. He's a stud and I think he was the best player on a really good Texas defense.

- I love Donovan Ezeiruaku too. He's short, but he can convert speed to power and he's got a full rush repertoire and elite pursuit speed for an edge. I'm seeing him mocked in the mid second, but I think he's got value at 27. What I'd love to see Peters do is trade down from our spot at 27 and pick up two early seconds and snag both Watts and Ezeiruaku.
Good to hear from you again pal.

I haven't done much draft homework. I just want high upside talent that we can develop. Not worried at all about filling needs and its nice to have a FO that'll take the same approach. I would say I'd definitely target a RB because this is a stacked RB class and I want some explosiveness to pair with Daniels in the backfield for the massive force domino effect.

I've been thinking something similar. One of the most noticeable weaknesses of our offense is the lack of an outside run game. We don't run any outside zone at all and I think it's mainly because BRob is so slow and isn't a very decisive runner. Other teams with explosive playmaking QBs make so much hay off those easy outside zone runs and we just bash our heads into the wall over and over again, scrapping for three four yards up the middle.

Jayden should be able to check to outside zones and get good early down leverage, and he should be able to make tons of plays off play-action, but it's absent from our offense. Ekeler is our only legitimately good RB and he is only good for like ten touches a game at this point in his career, so I agree we need upgrades at RB.

But one thing the past two seasons have demonstrated is that most of the best RBs in the league hit the open market, and you can get these guys in their prime years for cheap in trades or free agency. And a lot of times, these guys hit lows in production right before their rookie deals are up, then rebound for hugely impactful seasons once they end up on teams that are actually good. Someone like Travis Etienne is who I'd be targeting for a Josh Jacobs/Saquon Barkley type resurgence. If we could beef up our line and get someone fast like him, I think we'd get very explosive.

My 1st round positional wants: Edge, WR, CB, OT

My ideal situation is we sign Tee Higgins, therefore removing WR from my wants list, but until then...

I like the order, but I’d flip the CB and OT.

Yeah I was considering that too. After I posted, I checked out the PFF grades for the season and both Wylie and Coleman put up pretty underwhelming grades (yes I know PFF isn't the end all be all).

I think we have Wylie under contract for one more year, I'm curious if they were to draft an OT in the 1st round would they cut Wylie and move Coleman to RT? Or move Coleman to a back up swing tackle situation? Curious to see if folks think Coleman is a long-term starter at either LT or RT, I think he had a pretty nice showing this year for a 3rd rounder who was thrown into the fire of playing LT pretty much right away.

That's a crazy amount of talent. Especially at Ohio State. I would love to have Quinshon Judkins here. If he's there in the 3rd.

Simmons would be so good here. Unless we trade up, he is out of reach. I would love to have a franchise LT protecting Jayden though.
