I was hoping to see a long-winded discussion of the snow possibilities and weather map complexities by the snow geeks and nerds which was really interesting on the old tailgate. Guess they haven't joined yet. :(

At least one is here! :)

Biggest regionwide snow in a while. The whole state of Maryland is currently in a Winter Storm Warning. Schools are closed, Feds are closed. Finally, a snow all can enjoy! Snow should be in the DMV in a couple hours. Radar is starting to fill in now, but we'll have to deal with virga (snow falling but not reaching the ground) for a bit.

Expect 6-12" regionwide, though nearly all models are on the high end of that for most.
Here's the latest from the NWS:

With our first big storm in a while I was hoping to see rival factions of weather nerds insulting each other over the flaws in their favorite models; Euro, NAM, GFS, Canadian etc. :D

Speaking of the models, all are showing more snow this weekend. From a traditional coastal storm this time.

GFS is wee bit robust with showing 1-2 FEET the past couple of runs. Euro and Canadian aren't quite there yet but do throw a few more inches our way.
We'll see. Let's get through this first :)

Post pandemic snow days don't hit like they used to. You still have to shovel AND work from home.

We got six inches out here in Brookeville right now at 3:20 PM. Got a little light snow still falling.

9" and counting for me. Round 2 is here for the region. Everyone should pick up another inch or two...or three.

Also, is the Out of Context thread up and running yet?

TWC just upped Brookeville to 3-5 inches coming on Sunday as of this morning. 90% chance.

Accuweather is holding at 1-3 inches for Sunday, but calling for an additional 1-3" Sunday night. 80% chance. They say the storm will total 3-6 inches which is about what they were saying for the storm two weeks ago.

Any insight?
