Jayden Daniels - Caution!
It's a thing that has certainly happened as well though. Baker, Dak, Stroud for example.Warhead36 wrote: Fri May 09, 2025 10:11 amSophomore slumps aren't really a thing. I just don't want Daniels on the cover of Madden. That curse is real.Warhead36 wrote: Fri May 09, 2025 10:11 amSophomore slumps aren't really a thing. I got so spoiled it got to the point where if he missed a throw I could not understand what possibly could have happened. I am afraid I'll react the same way when he throws a few bad balls to start next season as well.
Someone on Facebook posted this play and I'm glad they did. He made so many spectacular plays I had forgotten about this one, but I remembered at the time how special it was.

Did you guys listen to Jayden's mom's interview with Ryan Clark? Its actually quite good. She comes across very impressive. She has multiple Master's degrees and is more than qualified to run Jayden's business persuits. There was some interesting stuff. She basically said Jayden doesn't care at all about commercials or endorsements or his brand or anything like that, he's just super obsessed with football (and sports in general) and lets his mom handle all that. Its probably why we haven't seen him on a bunch of commercials yet, his mom is super protective of his brand. As far as the dating stuff, she laughed it off. He's absolutely allowed to date, she just looks out for him to make sure he finds the right woman (I mean, that's basically every half decent mom).
We got our guy for the next decade.

The dating thing doesn't really matter and I don't care much about it...but it is still sorta weird. A mom basically screening her son's possible girlfriends, going with him when he does go out with a girl and even intervening in some cases. I'm not sure that's "every half decent mom" lolWarhead36 wrote: Mon May 12, 2025 1:04 pmDid you guys listen to Jayden's mom's interview with Ryan Clark? Its actually quite good. But hey, if it keeps JD focused on football, then good.
She doesn't go with him on dates. The pics we see online are marketing/business events. The USC womens basketball player he went to a game with is actually his cousin.mistertim wrote: Thu May 15, 2025 11:19 amThe dating thing doesn't really matter and I don't care much about it...but it is still sorta weird. I guess I just find the whole thing a bit odd and I still don't think it's "basically every half decent mom."Warhead36 wrote: Thu May 15, 2025 11:53 amShe doesn't go with him on dates. That said, JD lives in a different world than I do, so I can understand her impulse to try and protect him from people who are looking to get money somehow now that he's a millionaire and a superstar athlete. I just figure at some point it becomes solely his choice and responsibility as a grown man to be around the right people.

I have to admit Jayden's mom was a concern for me post draft. She seemed like a stage mom who was going into the locker room. Sure glad to see that so far she has been great and very impressive when you hear her speak.Warhead36 wrote: Mon May 12, 2025 1:04 pmDid you guys listen to Jayden's mom's interview with Ryan Clark?
