A message to Jayden Daniels - We've been looking for a franchise quarterback for a long time and now that you appear to be the QB we've been seeking, we'd like to see you stick around for maybe 5-10 years. My fear is that if you keep carrying the ball and running as much as you have been, your tenure as a top tier QB will be short-lived.
I remember our hope that RG3 was our QB of the future. I remember RG3 running the ball at times where it didn't seem like it was the best decision to do so. I remember RG3 being injured on a run during the playoffs. From that point forward, his reign as our franchise QB of the future ended. Don't let your time as our QB end the same way. Sometimes you just need to get rid of the ball and live for another day.
Just an opinion from someone who grew up in Northern Virginia not far from the Ashburn training camp and who has been a S***'s fan since the 1950's.

Who here doesn't hold their breath when he takes off running or takes a shot in the pocket? Lol. That said, it's up to the team to improve the talent on the OL and elsewhere so he doesn't need to run as often. However, it's part of his game and part of what makes him so dangerous to opponents. I don't want to see him completely abandon running, but I would like to see it be needed less often.

More o-lineman is first priority. Then fix the holes on defense. Then a breakout wr. Then a bellcow back, sorry but BRob isn’t that. The Sisko wrote: Tue Dec 31, 2024 5:31 pm Who here doesn't hold their breath when he takes off running or takes a shot in the pocket? Lol. I agree with most of the comments to my original post. But I do have a hypothetical question - win our playoff games and somehow sneak into the super bowl this year, but JD suffers an injury that significantly limits his playmaking abilities going forward. OR, JD is a little more cautious, we get eliminated in the playoffs, but we have a QB who can make us regular contenders. For me, I'll take Option #2. I do agree he's been sliding and getting out of bounds more. That's using his unique talents in a way that helps the team both short- and long-term. We do need to see the support around JD improve so we don't have depend on him to do everything -- and I have the impression that our new Commanders leadership will make the right roster moves going forward.
One poster mentioned BRobinson. His last two outings have not been representative of his performance based on my observations. Why? Is he injured? Has something occurred that's making him more tentative in hitting the holes quickly?

I haven’t been concerned about Jayden’s running for a while now. He’s gotten a lot smarter about getting out of bounds or sliding to avoid contact. When he does take a hit, it’s usually because we need the yards, like on 3rd or 4th down. Ironically, the closest he came to getting hurt was on a passing play. His running game is what makes him so dangerous, and it feels like he’s striking the right balance.
