Is anyone else getting realllll sick of eagles fans commenting “55-23” on every commanders fans post (whether it be a TikTok video, tweet, etc) no matter how irrelevant it is to the post itself? Example: the TikTok trend that’s going around where people post “holy ******* airball”. This woman, about 24, a commanders fan, made a video out of that trend.

First side: “i told him i love football”
2nd slide: he said “name 5 players”
3rd slide: “holy airball”

The comments? “55-23!!!! Hurrrr da durrrrrr!!!!”

After about a day of trying to bash it into their thick skulls why what they’re doing is weird and goofy, one of the fools tried saying “it’s called rivalry and banter if i was In WaWa and and saw someone wearing a commanders, cowboys or giants jersey im saying go birds”. Ok…..but that’s completely different than turning a post that isn’t about the NFCCG into a post about the NFCCG😂
Any article/headline that has that is clickbait so I don’t give them the satisfaction. Agreed they are tedious, and I know these guys have to post stuff to make money but…..
I wasn’t talking about an article or headline, I was talking about a tiktok video that this woman commanders fan made based off of the “holy ******* airball” trend. People personalize it to match their own life, so her video, she typed
“I told him i love football”
“He told me to name 5 players”
“Holy ******* airballllllll!!!!!”

(The airball being, assuming a woman can’t possibly know anything about football)

The comments from eagles fans that follow her or see her videos are “55-23!!!!!!” Which has ZERO to do with her video in the first place.

Pretty sure we can all agree that Philly fans in any sport are among the most obnoxious people on the planet.

just listened to Joe Whitt's press conference. Likeable dude and does good press conferences. I wonder if he is a good defensive coordinator but I'll give him another season before landing on a hard take.

I did like that he recognizes the problems,

A. Stopping the run

B. Turnovers

C. Closing games better.

Item C is what bugged me the most. That unit was at its worst in big moments in big games especially in the 4th quarter. But I am glad to see its a point of emphasis from him.

What I liked the most as to what he said in response to ironically from Ben Standig (same dude who keeps saying that they should convince Payne that this is a akin to a contract year because that was his big motivator for his career season) when asked about what player looks different-renewed focus, etc. He said Daron Payne. Later on he also mentioned Quan Martin.

I recall during the Payne contract year the last time, Logan Paulsen among others were saying they've seen Payne in camp after camp, but that camp he seems big time locked in, he came off as a different dude. If you recall that was the year Payne was doing money signs every time he had a sack and wasn't shy about saying he wants his money. A previous coach (trying to remember, it might have been Jay) said in an interview that Payne is a good dude but not the most self-motivating guy.

So good news if Payne feels this way again this season that money is on the line where they can cut him next off season because the lack of guaranteed money going foward -- we might see his best. If Payne has his typical of late pedestrian season, he's getting like 6-7 million a year probably versus the 23 or so he would get otherwise.

The defense did not successfully close out a single close game. Look back at all the close games:

vs Giants-They were driving. Got lucky the Giants K got hurt and Nabors dropped a pass on 4th down.

@ Bengals-They scored everytime we got back up to a 2 score lead.

@ Ravens-Couldn't stop Lamar when the offense was mounting a comeback.

vs Bears-Had a double digit lead in the 2nd half but gave up back to back TD drives (and another drive where they got to goal but fumbled).

vs Steelers-Had a lead in the 2nd half. Gave up big plays including 4th down. And then the Newton offsides on 4th and 1.

@ Giants-Had double digit leads but the Giants kept coming back and scoring to get to within a possession.

vs Cowboys-Gave up a TD right after we took a lead in the 3rd quarter and then another after the Bates fumble.

@ Eagles-Had a lead in the 4th quarter and gave it up. Then gave up another TD after the missed 4th down.

@ Saints-Let Spencer freaking Rattler light us up in the 2nd half. Fortunate to win on a 2 point stop but it should have never come to that.

vs Eagles-Gave up big conversion after big conversion against Kenny freaking Pickett. Fortunate that Davante Smith dropped a 3rd down conversion.

vs Falcons-Up 7 late gave up a game tying TD drive including multiple 3rd and a 4th down conversion. Lucky we got the ball first in OT.

@ Bucs in playoffs-Up 10-3 before half and give up a TD drive. Got lucky with a botched snap on the last drive to only give up a game tying FG instead of go ahead TD.

We can't just assume Daniels will be a superhero every game. Need the defense to step up and close some games out. I could see a lot of games where we're up like 21-17 late and a guy like Herbert or Darnold has the ball late and I'm not sure I trust this defense to finish.

Absolutely. Part of the need for Jayden's heroics was the defense was a seive in the 4th quarter and in a big moments in games.

If they are struggiling to stop dudes like Pickett and Rattler and Penix and Daniel Jones with the game on the line -- they got a tougher road this season with some legit starters where even the weaker ones on their schedule like Geno Smith will be a bigger challenge versus what they faced last season.
