Just as an FYI, the lawyers for the DOJ in the Garcia case above, were suspended for being honest with the judge that they had no info on why Garcia was deported in the first place. Bondi wants people willing to say and do anything they want, whether or not it's legal or ethical.
US sidelines DOJ lawyer involved in deportation case, which judge calls 'wholly lawless'
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi said on Sunday a Justice Department attorney had been placed on leave after he failed to vigorously defend the government's handling of a man erroneously deported to El Salvador in what a U.S. judge called a "wholly lawless" detention.
U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis had ordered that Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran migrant who lived in the U.S legally with a work permit, be returned to Maryland despite the DOJ's position that it cannot return him from a sovereign nation.
The Trump administration has appealed the case, and a ruling is expected as soon as Sunday night ahead of the judge's 11:59 p.m. Monday deadline for his return.
At a court hearing on Friday, Justice Department lawyer Erez Reuveni struggled to answer questions from the judge about the circumstances of Abrego Garcia's deportation.
Reuveni said he had raised questions with U.S. officials about why the federal government could not bring back Abrego Garcia but had received no "satisfactory" answer. He acknowledged what he called an "absence of evidence" justifying Abrego Garcia's detention and deportation.
Bondi told "Fox News Sunday" that Reuveni was no longer actively working on the case or in the department.
"It's a pending matter right now. He was put on administrative leave by (Deputy U.S. Attorney) Todd Blanche on Saturday," Bondi said. "You have to vigorously argue on behalf of your client."
Reuveni's supervisor, August Flentje, was also placed on leave, ABC News reported. The Justice Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the report.

Haha! You better ruin your career defending this bullshit case or we'll end your career. Dude's name is Erez Reuveni, you know he's getting deported. Pay attention future DOJ lawyers, this will be your future if you join the regime.China wrote: Sun Apr 06, 2025 8:24 pmJust as an FYI, the lawyers for the DOJ in the Garcia case above, were suspended for being honest with the judge that they had no info on why Garcia was deported in the first place. I fully expect Trump to invoke the insurrection act after 4/20. Full on dictatorship begins.
He has his people in place. He wil use the military against the American people. They wil be sent into blue areas. Anyone who opposes him will be rounded up. All those camps being built to house illegals, are really for Americans who oppose him. 26 Elections, there won’t be any. Protesters will be arrested or just outright killed.
We are living in the final destruction of the USA as we knew her, before 1/20/25 and the majority voted for it. Trump will eventually come for those voters too.
I know some view this as being over the top and fantasy nightmare but not reality. We we are seeing that so called fantasy becoming reality.
They spent 4 years preparing for this. Project 25 is being implemented. Conservatives behind that, don’t believe in democracy and want the full dictatorship.

And Dictatorship 101 says you need your military to like to pull it off...bruh the way he's he's gonna after the VA and DOGE was at the Pentagon the other day you really believe the military would pick him over the rest of us right now?
History says you can't piss off everyone and expect to remain in charge very long. Praetorian Guard says "what's up"...
We don't know what we think...
We don't know what we know...
All we have to go on is what we say and what we show...

Activist report: my copilot and I showed for the Hands Off rally in Great Falls (MT---population 60,000, also home to a major Air Force base and a surprisingly diverse town but still dominantly GOP of course ), about an hour from the very small central Montana town I've been stuck in for two years.
It was a pretty good crowd, more than 3-4 hundred I'd say. I noted the demographic there skewed a little older than other rallies I saw last summer at anti trump, pro lgbtq, and multi cultural events. And and there was indeed a fair scattering of self identified republicans there.
I make the point to people around here that out of approx 550,000 votes cast for potus in this ruby red state that about 220, 000 went for a liberal biracial woman candidate who is often framed as a somewhat weak candidate, and who was put in a very difficult situation with a ridiculously brief time to campaign.
So that is a reminder that this country is not as hugely dominated by either the left (i.e. Obama's impressive victory) or the right as some folks suggest after a solid victory.
The vote tally here is still a large difference as these things are usually figured, but just think of framing it the way I did. In this "red red" state, 330,000 voted red. But 220,000 voted blue. That's a lot of people in that minority.
The losing party in the u.s. is always too large a demographic for the other side to just ignore or think it can be easily subjugated or written off even though many on both sides like to think that way ("mandates") or wish it was that way (I know I wish such things) after a victory.
