I know there's views that his best days are behind him. Not bothered. I think he's going to be a great addition here. Our coaches and players will bring the best out if him. And that's another weird, but great, thing to feel.

Big deebo fan and I was hoping for this. I wasn't even worried we'd give too much for him if we did decide to get him. So weird to not assume getting the worst side in any deal is automatic.

Didn't want him last year, don't want him now. I don't think he's washed (people said that about EVERY vet we picked up last year), but his antics at the beginning of last year makes me think he's a distraction.
However, this front office is amazing and I fully trust them to make the right decisions. Our FO deserves to have any leeway or goodwill to make the decisions they think this team needs. Even if they don't work out, I trust our guys. Also, its only a 5th, lets kick the tires and restructure that contract.

Niners looked washed up last year mainly due to the injury bug. They also over used Deebo as a RB which beat him up.Warhead36 wrote: Sat Mar 01, 2025 10:16 pmHe looked washed last year but for a 5th its worth the risk.
I am guessing the plan is us using him more as just a WR with occasional gadget usage which is where he always shines. He is a WR2/3. His addition allows the team to focus more on the lines heading into FA and the draft

Switching Dyami for Deebo is a huge upgrade, I had predicted a 5th so that seems right. He may not be the same Deebo from 3 years ago but he's 29 and missed only 2 games in each of the last 2 seasons. SF turned into a dumpster fire and Deebo was not motivated, which is an issue. But he looks to be a great candidate for a big season in a new situation, he will also be in a contract year.
This could very well end up a 1 year rental and that's the only rub for me. With the $17 M hit the cap situation is no longer awesome as they still have a ton of players to sign to get to 53.
Let's hope AP will be able to trade back in the 1st to pick up more picks. But you need a partner and in a draft that is deep but not top heavy that may be hard to do.

Deebo isn't a WR2, he's more of a short distance weapon to mess with defensive formations coverage.
He's not a vertical threat, and SF only really targeted him as such when they were able to scheme up linebackers on him in man coverage.
We still need someone who can stretch it. That would make the Deebo trade much more useful.
