Call me crazy, but is it possible that the Mavericks got better? A healthy Anthony Davis & Kyrie Irving is better than Doncic & Irving imo. They lose Kleber and Morris, get Christie, which is a wash. They also get a first-rounder. The trade doesn't seem as preposterous as people are making it out to be.

It wasn’t Luka who disappeared in the finals. It was Kyrie.abdcskins wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2025 2:30 pmCall me crazy, but is it possible that the Mavericks got better? We are too quick to forget Luka willing his teams to wins. You remember when Luka went balls deep in Devin Booker and the suns? They haven’t been the same since.
Kyrie and AD aren’t ironmen either.
Anthony Davis and Kyrie have proven they can’t lead teams and I don’t see them going anywhere.

It makes me wonder if Luka's injury is worse than they're letting on and the Mavs didn't want to pay him the supermax next year. Something has happened behind the scenes....it is baffling.
I don't see how this benefits the Lakers much right now since both Lebron and Luka are ball-dominant point forwards. How are they going to coexist and share the ball? Are they just going to run pick and rolls with each other?

Pretty sure Luka took the donuts with him.Renegade7 wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2025 1:33 amGet in here.
Luka traded to Lakers for AD and doughnuts.
I'm convinced Mavericks are switching gears to tank and move to Vegas.
Their fans are is going through it on Reddit...this is shameful by Dallas...generational dumbfuck move...
Mavs are betting that his body is gonna break down and he'll never get right with his conditioning, is what this trade is.
It's fascinating. Luka is one of those guys that can look puffy and out of shape but still drop 25-30 a night.
It's not like the Mavs got back an Iron Man, either. Davis is Mr. Glass.
I don't understand this trade but it's going to be interesting to see how this plays out. The NBA has the best trade/free agent season of the three major sports leagues, hands down. Nothing this wild happens in MLB/NFL.
