Re: Living under Trump 2 aka Musk!!!
You mention the CA regulation environment for building a new steel mill. Yeah, people don’t want their homes affected by having a steel mill in their backyard. It’s no surprise the current administration is eager to abandon EPA regulations that have been enacted to protect residents from the ...

Re: ***2024-2025 NBA Season Thread***
Funny how everything has to be picking a team and all the baggage with it on any particular topic. Easier to shot a fish once you put it in a barrel you're familiar with.
@Spaceman Spiff you and my Dad must of been carpool buddies and still text each other.
He stands no matter what that Prime ...

Re: Living under Trump 2 aka Musk!!!
I didn’t realize steel jobs returned to the US. I was referring to the return of the shuttered plants/factories. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm going to assume the steel jobs that returned were to existing plants/mills. Essentially these sites were getting back the capacity they lost which ...

Re: Living under Trump 2 aka Musk!!!
This, among 1,000 other things, is what baffles me about these idiots. History says, no, those jobs are never coming back.
I had a maga moron (my since retired dentist) try to tell me: The jobs and factories are coming back! No, dumbass, they are not coming back. You gave away those jobs in the ...

Re: US economy (Feb. 2025: Unemployment ticks up to 4.1)
Jobs report is strong but a light up tick in unemployment to 4.1.
Inflation pretty steady at 2.5% and over the Feds goal of 2%.
Stock markets down.

Re: US economy (Jan 2025: job growth slows and fewer jobs created than expected
here is an economic identity:
GDP == (the three line equal sign; is defined as; is a mathematical identity) == C + I + G + NX
C= consumption
I= investment
G= Government spending
NX= net exports.
again, this is a mathematical identity. there are no estimates, or feelings or biases involved ...

Re: The Ukraine War
Does it seem like Vance/Trump staged the whole oval office thing? They were looking for an excuse to stop supporting Ukraine and so they pushed buttons and pushed for blow up?
The other thing is why isn't anybody making a bigger deal about them not getting the mineral rights agreement signed?
We ...

Re: US economy (Jan 2025: job growth slows and fewer jobs created than expected
You know this stuff comes our quarterly, right?
Uh no. There might be sources/sites that catalog it quarterly but they release unemployment data monthly. CPI (inflation data) is also released monthly.
GDP is generally done quarterly.
But a lot of economic data has historically been done ...

Re: Senate votes to confirm Trump's pick for FBI director by narrow margin
HQ is full of Peter Strzoks and Lisa Pages, closet leftists with bad cases of TDS. Fire them, move them to Alabama or the Anchorage Field Office, or the high crime cites where they might remember they are supposed to be law enforcement officers. As it is, they sit around in DC and have their ...

Re: The Ukraine War
When Trump took power in 2016, the US war in Afghanistan had been going from more than 12 years, was costing us the amount of money that the right claims the war in Ukraine is, and was costing American lives, there was no hurry to end that war or to answer questions like who is going to kick the ...
