2025 Schedule Thread

The schedule will be revealed next Thursday, so I figured I'd make a thread where we can discuss/make our predictions, plan which games people travel to, etc.

So the last time we had this much national buzz was 2013, where we had FIVE national TV games along with two 4:25 games. I'd expect at least that many this year.

Good bets for national TV games:

Philly-At least one of our games should be on primetime. There's a good chance we open the season in Philly on the TNF season opener as well.

Dallas-There are reports its better than 50/50 we play in Dallas on Thanksgiving.

Detroit-Could be the TNF game after Thanksgiving, where the trend in recent years has been the TNF after Thanksgiving be between two teams who played on Thanksgiving to eliminate the short week factor.

Chicago-Daniels vs Caleb. Bears have a lot of juice hiring Ben Johnson and last year's game was epic. This is my prediction for our week 1 opponent on either SNF or MNF.

Kansas City-Someone on 980 reported its almost a guarantee this is a late season SNF game.

For 4:25ers we have a lot of options. @ the Chargers is a lock being a west coast playoff team. Green Bay, Denver, and Minnesota are good bets as well if not on national TV. I would also guess whichever Philly game is not on primetime will be the FOX 4:25 game of the week.

I also think there's a good shot we're the Dolphins opponent in their Madrid game. That game is Week 11, and Thanksgiving is Week 13, so it sets up a Week 12 bye for us.

I think we’ll play in Dallas on Thanksgiving

I think we’ll play the lions on SNF early in the season.

Yeah I could definitely see us playing the Christmas game. Not sure if they'd schedule us to play on both Thanksgiving AND Christmas. If they did, I'd bet the Christmas game would be at home.

I think I read somewhere that the Chiefs are gonna be the Chargers opponent in the Week 1 Brazil game. Not sure if that's confirmed though.

It’s surprising how few leaks there are this year. It used to be that so many things leaked, you could forecast entire schedules through deduction, long before they were officially announced.

I’m really pulling for the Madrid game. I’ve been wanting to visit Spain/portugal for a long time and this would be a great excuse.

personally... I DESPISE all the prime-time games. hate 'em. I want my football as a lazy Sunday activity.

i hated Monday night football when it was the only non-Sunday game. I REALLY hated it when they added Thursday nights. Fuck Sunday night football. Burn Christmas football on a pyre of greasy money. hate hate hate

The thing is, Wsh-Philly is gonna be a ratings monster whenever its played, so the logic is that there is no reason to burn it on the opener which generates monster ratings regardless of the matchup. Basically, the league would prefer a matchup that probably wouldn't generate as much ratings later in the season in a different time slot (while still obviously being a good matchup). That's why I think something like Detroit, Chicago, or LA Rams would be the preferred opening matchup.

We should start seeing leaks in the next few days. At the very least, the international games will probably be leaked. Teams know about those in advance so they can start planning their travel arrangements, make sure their guys have passports, etc.

Yeah, by Monday I’d expect some leaks to start happening. It’s usually within two or three days of the schedule release that the leaks start coming out online. The only thing that’s different now vs in years past i think is in years past, the league would’ve already announced at least one or two of the away teams for the international games by now. This year, they’ve decided to not do that for whatever reason
