Was a big boxing fan for many years. My faves as a kid was Sugar Ray Robinson, Jake La Motta, and of course,ba little later, the Greatest. One reason I quickly connected to our ES/ExComm @Clay2Ali was that screen name and all it suggested to me about Ali's boxing and social significance.
But boy, those were the days. Patterson, Liston, Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, Duran, Foreman, and then Tyson. So many others too. A golden era for the sport.

Davis-Roach controversy?
He took a knee during the fight in the 9th round
“I just got my hair done two days ago, and she put grease in my shit,” Davis said. “The shit was like, you know when you’re sweating and things like that and the grease came in my face and it burnt my eyes.”
Roach had to settle for a majority draw Saturday night.
Is referee Steve Willis to blame?
Roach: “Honestly, I thought I should have won without that being counted a knockdown,” Roach said about the incident at the post-fight press conference. “I’m not the ref, you know what I’m saying, if he had to wipe sweat out of his eye he had to wipe sweat out of his eye. The rules do state if you take a knee it’s an automatic eight-count. If that was counted a knockdown, I would have won a majority decision.”
