A few thoughts I need to get off my chest:

This timeline sucks.

MAGA is genius level marketing against the political status quo. Unfortunately the Democrats haven't realized this and the more they keep trying to act like "let's get back to the status quo", the more they are going to be digging a hole for themselves. There's a larger percentage of people who don't want the "status quo" politics pre-2016 -- MAGA has been their only option. And it's mainly driven by immigration, but economy too.

And they are really good at pushing conspiracy theories into mainstream thinking. And making small issues into big deals. Trans' in sports. I don't get the people attacking Newsome over this. Fight the battle at "we recognize trans people, period." and not on sports or locker rooms. Just give it up already and say, "we need a debate that will allow trans kids and athletic space".

Unfortunately, things have to get really bad for people to think "maybe that status quo wasn't too bad." That's kind've where we are at.

I would love to see the Congresspeople complaining about "right wing threats" just post all that online. Who is threatening them. I'm sick of hearing about "right wing threats" -- I feel like they are not being honest. Name and shame the people who are threatening. We have the Internet, I'm sure a few of these people could get doxxed in 48 hours.

And someone tell me what Democrats should do - AKA Colbert with his sign. At this point their power is freedom of voice / free speech. Colbert has as much power as Congressional Dems have. Poking them this way doesn't seem helpful when voters literally gave them no arms of political power. There's another "something" they could do, but that's more drastic in the other direction.

We live in the dumbest timeline ever. So end the TSA Union? But I thought he doesn't know what Project 2025 is and this is exactly what was in the playbook.
