On first glance as to Will Johnson, seems like the perfect CB for the Whitt-Quinn style.
Plays zone-man. Looks better in zone, playing off coverage but he can press. Mirrors well. Sticky enough in coverage, sometimes grabby.
To me its the combination of his physicality and instincts to go get the ball. He misses some tackles but its not for lack of effort. They use him for corner blitzes and he looks good doing it.
He's a gambler who is going for the ball and looking to make a big play. And his instincts look good on that front. But I think that's exactly what this staff wants -- a dude who is looking to make a big play. Feels like Dallas' corners when Whitt was there.
When you got an offense like ours, its fine to take some chances to try to turn the ball over. Similar reason why i like Barron. And Hairston. Albiet all three CBs are very different stylistically.

I'll just bring back my counter. 750-850 and 5 TD's is cheap as hell in FA. 1st rounders should be used on positions and prospects that are expensive in FA, and have a higher ceiling period, get DT, DE, DB or OL help when the WR's are as limited in ceiling as Egbuka, it simply doesn't make sense in terms of the use of draft capital or cap dollars. We need first rounders to be high ceiling players at positions that are hard to fill cheaply in FA. Gallup is a guy who already produced Egbuka's ceiling and typical production levels twice when he played at least 12 games, and he cost us what, 1.1 million to sign? I fully expect Egbuka to be a solid NFL WR, but we should be going after a corner or edge or DT instead and there will be ones available with much higher positional ceiling than Egbuka has for his own.Warhead36 wrote: Thu Apr 24, 2025 2:38 pmHe's my favorite safe pick of the draft. He's basically a guaranteed 750-850 yards/5-7 TDs every year with the occasional 1k yard season. There is value in safety as well. The Evil Genius wrote: Thu Apr 24, 2025 2:29 pmIf he's there, I'd prefer Emeka Egbuka at 29. While not necessary a need, he'd be a phenomenal compliment to Terry and Deebo.

Starks was better as a Freshman and Sophomore than he was in 2024. Kind of a Derek Stingley college career where he looked transcendent as a freshman, then the defense as a whole declined and his play got way less consistent. I'd be betting on him as a buy low candidate at the end of round one. But I still think Watts is better than him.skinsinparadise wrote: Thu Apr 24, 2025 2:39 pmI like Fannin. I see some boom-bust in him so I waver a little. But he would be fun.GoingCommando wrote: Thu Apr 24, 2025 2:30 pmI've got some of the same names for my guys who I like way more than the consensus mock drafter. Here's mine:
QB - Shedeur Sanders, Kyle McCord, Will Howard
RB - Cam Skattebo
WR - Tre Harris
TE - Harold Fanin Jr, Jackson Hawes, Brant Kuithe
OT - Kelvin Banks, Hollin Pierce
IOL - Weston Franklin
IDL - Alfred Collins, TJ Sanders, Elijah Simmons, Zeek Biggers
EDGE - Donovan Ezeiruaku, Elijah Roberts, Ashton Gilotte, JT Tuimoloau
LB - Jay Higgins, Barrett Carter, Carson Bruener
DB - Xavier Watts, Andrew Mukuba, Malaki Starks
I like Tre Harris, even though he isn't that fast, such a deep ball threat and physical receiver-- YAC.
Alfred Collins is one of my fav run stuffer DTs. I haven't watched TJ Sanders but am intrigued as to what I've read about him and his stats.
Jay Higgins is a baller but that 4.82 speed worries me.
I want to love Malaki Starks but haven't found the game that I am smitten with. What am I missing?
Collins has the best body of the DLs in this year's class IMO. Some of his reps are unbelievable. Ragdolls OLs with push-pulls and bull rushes. We know Peters likes DLs like this because of the Kinlaw signing. I think he's a really good fit for us in the second round. You'll like TJ Sanders too. Bruising hitter who finds the ball really well. Smaller for a lineman, but quick.

Wonder about Donovan Jackson, poor man's Tyler Booker, if they are looking for a big man pass protect LG.
A lot of good players left on the board. If his character checks out, and again got no clue, Mike Green IMO is freakish. I love Ezeirukau. But I love Green more.
Matthew Golden would tempt me if he remains on the board. Barron would be next.
Hairston. Josh Simmons if his medicals check out.

I did a little write up on Conerly a few weeks ago. Basically my takeaway was that he's the fastest OL in the class, but that he is under strength and a developmental player who will likely need to sit as a rookie in order to get stronger. I felt like it is kind of crazy that a project tackle would be projected so early in the draft, and that his high draft status will force him into a starting role before he's ready. But after seeing the run on OLs in the first round last night, there is absolutely no waiting on a prospect like Conerly. OLs are costing a premium, and IMO the only value pick for an OL in the entire first round was Kelvin Banks. Campbell went around where he should have, and everyone else went at least like ten picks before they should have in a normal year. Membou is good but very short for an OT. It's like no one wants to admit that even though it's glaring on film.
All of the OLs had warts this year, but Conerly's flaw was the kind that he can grow out of. I'm a little bummed that we're probably going to miss out on Ezeiruaku, but I love what we've done with our OL. It's going to be a major strength moving forward. Conerly is a real fit, and with Cosmi missing most of the year, he's going to start. My guess is at either RT or RG. I think Coleman will start at LG and Wylie will start at one of the spots on the right. I hope Wylie kicks inside and Conerly starts at RT, but Wylie, Coleman, and Conerly should be pretty interchangeable. They'd all be good options to start at LG.
Another big reason I'm feeling good about the Conerly pick is that pretty much all of the DLs I like are still on the board. This was the loaded position in this year's class. We're going to be able to get a good one if we stay at our pick in round 2.
I'm also relieved that we didn't pick the corner with the bad knee or the edge with two sexual assault allegations hanging over his head. Or the LBer with a torn labrum.
Favorite options for us in Rd 2:
- Ezeiruaku of course
- Watts
- Mukuba
- Alfred Collins
- TJ Sanders
- JT Tuimoloau
- Tre Harris

I liked Conerly when watching him in pass protect but I didn't do a deep dive.
I used to post this point on extremeskins all the time a quote from a scout that said its impossible not to be a good team if you have a good Qb and a good Oline.
The Giants have a killer D line now. Ironic that Josh Conerly had a good game against Abdul. Peters said their metrics showed that Conerly played at his best against the better OTs. Eagles live off their D line. Cowboys have Parsons.
Some of the better NFC teams especially Philly and Detroit have really good o line.
I liked the Coleman pick last year but didn't love it. But did think Coleman could be a really good guard. Fits his skill set IMO much better because in short I didn't love how he used his hands and his lateral quickness and instincts. But in a phone booth that mitgates his weaknesses much more IMO.
Clearly, Kliff saw him as a scheme fit. That's who he wanted.

McShay among others kept saying if you want your tackle take them early because the depth at that spot isn't what it is in other spots. Keim especially this week kept saying they really really really want to add another piece to the O line. Once Booker was gone my mind scambled to who else? I thought maybe Jackson even though I heard no connections with him and this team considering he's closer to the Booker body type. I should have thought of Conerly considering all the time they spent with him, Keim mentioned him in the mix, too.GoingCommando wrote: Fri Apr 25, 2025 5:23 amI did a little write up on Conerly a few weeks ago. Last year it really mattered who they met with a lot, especially the combine and that top golf visit. lol, I wish I knew all the players who were at that top golf event. Peters mentioned last night that there were three players they met with who came off like really special people who the staff loved, Conerly was one of them. I presume Booker was the other. Got no clue who the third would be. Conerly was a top golf guy.
So if the idea is take seriously the names mentioned and people they met with multiple times including the combine. Off the top of my head. Focusing purely on the 2nd round or trade down to the third types
Belton -- I'd assume they won't go O line again
Landon Jackson -- they spent some time with him
Treveyon Henderson -- they spent supposedly a lot of time with him but he's likely gone
Oladejo: a lot of time with him, too, am guessing he's on the board still when they pick but will see
JT -- I know they met him at the combine
Scourton -- I know they met him in some context, forgetting
Gillotte and David Walker -- top 30 visits
Green -- Keim said he knows they like the player and met him but cautioned if he falls its a red flag so he's not sure in that case whether the visits went well and or his stories check out. I got no idea but at this point, I assume he's off their board.
The Iowa WRs -- they had combine visits with them
CBs -- Amos, Porter (Porter is a recent mention), Riley (I think Riley goes lower but they spent a lot of time with him)
Tre Harris -- top 30 visit
Billy Bowman -- spent some time with him but feels early for him.
Carson Schwesigner -- a lot of late buzz about their interest in him including from both Schefter and Keim
Kaleb Johnson -- top 30 visit.
Skattebo -- Keim mentioned they met but didn't say when-where.

Peters admitted in his press conference last night that the depth of these spots influences his picks. Arguably o line made all the sense in the world from that context.
Playing off that same idea, I'd guess they wait to the 4th for the RB.
If it were me as far as possible targets in the 2nd.
if am going by BPA combined with need I'd take whomever is left over if any from: Ezeriauku, JT, Landon Jackson, Amos, Revel.
If Henderson is there, I seriously doubt he will be, I'd take him. i love Jayden Higgins, the WR from Iowa. I like Noel but not as much, ditto Tre Harris.
I am not an Emmanwori guy but in the late 2nd, I'd get it.
Watts is intriguing. Kaleb Johnson. Feels early for Skattebo but i'd love it.
I watched some Schwesinger, I like him, don't love him. But love his profile-personality. And i can see him developing. Ditto Oladejo.
It's tough for me to pick one considering i got no idea how many of these guys are gone. But if I had to pick one player that seems realistic just based on mocks that would be JT.
