And still couldn't do anything with the extra 1:43 to tie the game but instead give them a PP instead. :(

A big Caps fan I work with said unequivocally before the series that they would not get past Carolina.

Is the team (apart from Ovi) still relatively young? They should be in the mix for a while. But I can understand the historical frustration, especially with the high probability that, aside from 2018, the Ovechkin era didnt produce more in terms of deep runs.

Thompson did not have a good game, but thats not why we lost this series.

Carolina is not a more talented squad, they just are much better coached.

I am just glad I watched this game on my cell phone while painting my townhouse so I can get it ready for my next tenant.

I knew they were not going to win tonight. So painting was the better option here. :lol:

I hated to be right on this one when I said Canes in 5. But after that 1st game it didn't look good at all. The 2nd game gave us a little hope but after the 3rd game it was a forgone conclusion that there is no way they are beating them, let alone 3 in a row.

Canes goalie is really good but our guys just don't have the discipline to stay with the puck or chase it really hard. Too much clearing and their passing is meh. This needs to be fixed next year at minimum.
