I find it amusing that the Commanders are linked to just about every free agent out there. I'm glad we have a GM who won't be influenced by all the chatter and do what's best for the team and their future.
It used to be because they all knew that Snyder was dumb enough to overpay absolutely any player, but now it's because good players actually want to come here.
It's going to be a huge deal how we follow up this year. We hit a very high point in our freshman (for the coaches and jd) effort. Going back to back conference championship games is a very high bar.

But if we can get eleven or more wins and look improved in a few areas, that would be pretty good.

Ah hell with it. Superbowl!!! 😛

I fully expect a slight step back. 10-11 wins and at best a divisional round appearance; that’s even with a better roster.

The schedule and JD not surprising anyone will be a factor.

I don’t expect a step back as bad as Houston but even they managed to win a playoff game.

I still expect a playoff appearance and that’s even if Cowboys bounce back and the nfc east send 3 teams to playoffs.

IF true I'll pass.

Yeah, loved his leadership, but was SLOW on the field by the end of the year. He was a liability to be frank.
We need to move on from Wagner even at half that number. His intangibles are strong, but he can't cover anyone any more and it is killer. His run D is so good that you hate to lose that. But even still, we have to play with light boxes, in large part, because he can't cover anyone so that it comes out as a wash for our run D in the end. Also he's not running down the Saquon Barkleys or Bijan Robinsons or James Cooks of the NFL any more.

We need better coverage in our back seven and a big part of that is getting a MIKE who can single cover slot weapons, tight Ys, and backs.

Who do we replace Wagner with? There is no viable alternative on the roster. I have no issues paying Wagner. Money is not a problem right now with Daniels on a rookie deal and we can't lose Wagner's leadership and locker room presence.

Okay so we don't pay Wagner. We'll just have to pay whoever replaces him. Or gamble on a rookie. No thanks to either. Slightly overpay Wagner for another year and hope you can start developing a replacement.

Wagner was productive and a leader. 132 tackles? Yes please. Improve the DL and he wouldn't need to even do that again. Not trying to keep him would be ridiculous. Of all the other positions they need to improve from CB to Edge to OL to WR. Why not try to keep him for another few years and not worry about his position.

Slayton continues to be one of my top targets in FA. He is an immediate upgrade across from Terry even if isn't a true 1A or 2. I think he could prove to be a diamond in the rough with JD and Terry and be that #2.

Then they can still debate Dyami, bring back Noah and look at the draft or later cuts. There will be a lot of big name older vets available. I think Dyami gets offered $ and moves on

I'm all in on Hollywood Brown/Slayton.

I'd prefer Hollywood but Slayton is my clear number two.
