Bill's been increasingly desperate to stay financially solvent and will do whatever he thinks will help.

He has no entertainment skilld beyond being a wry comic whose most creative and humorous times are well behind him.

He's basically retracing the path of Dennis Miller in the "cater to the right, cater to the left, shake and stir" sociopolitical comedy world.

They started out being mainly lefty cuz right wing comedy had been seen as the province of hee haw to "you may be a redneck" to "last man standing" types of "low intellect humor" and they strove to be regarded as "intellectual comics" which was almost solely appealing to a more liberal, educated audience.

But in these social media days the affinity the right wing has shown for a trolling type/level of "humor", and the growing group of maga and young incel dumbass conspiracy-prone "victimized" males (the Joe Rogan and Dana White fans) will follow an often critical comic like bill as long as he or she slams the libs at least sometimes.

They are now a viable source of income too...up to the point where "both sides" get sufficiently bored with you and you just keep shrinking in relevance until you're auditioning for reality shows and still not getting any parts.
Dennis Miller was never funny, republicans laughed at his jokes to make themselves feel smart. His jokes are just big words and obscure references, there is a reason you don't see him anymore. Remember that Monday Night Football debacle? Simmsy remembers.

I used to love Bill Maher, but like so many other comedians/pundits/politicians, doing the right thing is hard. Kissing another man's ass is easy, but this will not end well for Maher. I haven't watched him in years, but I still kept my eye on Maher. I used to watch him on Fridays with my parents, a fun memory. However, these people think they're invincible, they think the left loves them more then they hate Trump, I wouldn't take that bet. Maher's show might survive this: budget can't be that much, its on a Friday night and has been on for over 20 years...but nothing is invincible.

Not only that, but a lot of maga morons are using these "flippers" as "proof" that Trump is doing something right. Its just making it longer that we have to suffer until these fools see the light.

Re: Maher and Miller

They saw bug bucks backing conservative or leaning conservative (or kissing Republican ass) and chased it. Neither had the ability to make it long term sticking to their actual beliefs so they had to create an identity that draws in the knuckledragging crowd. Rogan just does it better (get those knuckledraggers to buy in) and makes more money.

We somehow survived 2 or so years with Reagan being allegedly full blown senile. Just admit it and move on.

Imagine if they sent this to an old person, they could have a heart attack.

A mistake? Bull. They only want whites in the country.
