If all of this doesn't result in a blue wave in 2026 and 2028, the country is officially officially fucked.
It’s called project 2025 for a reason. The ship has sailed. This country gets what it deserves. The rest of us are merely fodder.

Judge pauses Trump administration plans to end deportation protection for Venezuelans
A federal judge on Monday paused plans by the Trump administration to end temporary legal protections for hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans, a week before they were scheduled to expire.
The order by U.S. District Judge Edward Chen in San Francisco is a relief for 350,000 Venezuelans whose Temporary Protected Status was set to expire April 7 after Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem reversed protections granted by the Biden administration.
Chen said in his ruling that the action by Noem "threatens to: inflict irreparable harm on hundreds of thousands of persons whose lives, families, and livelihoods will be severely disrupted, cost the United States billions in economic activity, and injure public health and safety in communities throughout the United States."
He said the government had failed to identify any "real countervailing harm in continuing TPS for Venezuelan beneficiaries" and said plaintiffs will likely succeed in showing that Noem's actions "are unauthorized by law, arbitrary and capricious, and motivated by unconstitutional animus."
Chen, who was appointed to the bench by President Barack Obama, a Democrat, said his order in the lawsuit brought by the National TPS Alliance applies nationally. Noem had also announced the end of TPS for an estimated 250,000 additional Venezuelans in September.
The judge gave the government one week to file notice of an appeal and the plaintiffs one week to file to pause for 500,000 Haitians whose TPS protections are set to expire in August. Alejandro Mayorkas, the previous secretary, had extended protections for all three cohorts into 2026.

Trump's changes to a $42 billion broadband program could be a win for Musk's Starlink
West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey last week unveiled a shake-up to a federally subsidized broadband program that gained little notice. That came as no surprise. It sounded like an unremarkable announcement about a government project receiving an extension.
But below the surface, the news marked the first instance of a state taking action at the direction of the Trump administration to upend a multi-billion-dollar pool of money to potentially benefit White House adviser Elon Musk.
For the past four years, states including West Virginia have been working with the federal government to finalize plans to extend underground fiber-optic cables to the estimated 22 million Americans without at-home internet.
But the Trump administration is overhauling the $42 billion federal grant program known as Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment Program to be "tech neutral," a nudge to encourage more satellite internet service. This comes despite telecommunications experts insisting that fiber is the fastest, more affordable way to connect underserved communities.
Republicans in Washington counter that companies including Musk's Starlink satellite company were excluded from the grants under former President Joe Biden. And the program's redesign is aimed at fixing that. In the eyes of Democrats and Musk critics, the push from the White House looks like a handout to the tech mogul.

Yes, just what the richest man in the world needs...another handout.

Fired health workers told to contact dead employee for discrimination complaints
Some government health employees who were laid off Tuesday were told to contact Anita Pinder with discrimination complaints. But Pinder, who was the director at the Office of Equal Opportunity & Civil Rights at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, died last year.
The inclusion of Pinder’s name in the reduction in force notices reflects the chaos of the Trump administration’s ongoing efforts to shed federal workers and was a gut punch to employees who knew her, said Karen Shields, who worked with Pinder.
“They couldn’t have run it past the people at CMS that were at the funeral and knew she died,” Shields said. “This is a lack of communication. There is just a better way to do this.”
In one notice reviewed by The Washington Post, laid-off CMS employees were told: “If you believe this personnel action is based in whole or in part on discrimination based on your race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age or disability, or in retaliation for prior protected activity you may file an EEO complaint with your designated HHS EEO representative.”
The notice then listed Pinder, her email and a phone number, and asked employees to contact her no later than 45 calendar days from the effective date of their separation from government service.
