Watching Michael McCarthy get emotional in that post-race interview got me, particularly when he said, "this is for Altadena."
I used to go to the Preakness as a young lad getting wrecked on the infield. Too bad it won't be at Pimlico anymore.

There's a difference between "realistic as possible" and overcoming the "willing suspension of disbelief." Clearly your disbelief is more easily suspended.Renegade7 wrote: Sat May 17, 2025 5:25 pmThe need for comic book movies to be realistic as possible blows my mind.

I love Sharnado because I enjoy how ridiculous it is.China wrote: Sat May 17, 2025 11:02 pmThere's a difference between "realistic as possible" and overcoming the "willing suspension of disbelief." I hate most hacker movies because I do cybersecurity for a living.
It's not that simple (my parents and sister complain on me about the opposite of what you clearly see).
Think about this for a second...if we really did make this realistic enough to overcome unwilligness to suspend belief, the flash would still disintegrate from friction, so would quicksilver.
I mean, at some point the more grounded you make it, the closer you get to the realization you kinda have to suspend disbelief sometimes or it's impossible to enjoy.
Sometimes you need to bend the rules of what's possible to help digest what's not from time to time.
I love Gravity...that's not how it would go despite their best efforts to make it plausible.
If I want to watch a documentary I'll turn on Youtube (which I do a lot).

Probably in to the one that has the Berenstein Bears and a cornucopia in the Fruit of the Loom logo.
