Tesla is done in Germany: 94% say they won’t buy a Tesla car

A survey of over 100,000 Germans revealed that 94% won’t buy a Tesla vehicle. It doesn’t bode well for the automaker, whose sales had already been falling off a cliff in the important European market.

In 2024, Tesla saw a 41% reduction in sales in Germany compared to 2023 despite EV sales surging 27% during the year.

This has already raised red flags about Tesla’s future in Germany, but it is nothing compared to Tesla’s performance so far in 2025.

Tesla’s sales were down 70% in the first two months of 2025, and again, that’s compared to its already poor performance in 2024.

There are many factors at play, including increased EV competition and the Model Y changeover, but in recent months, industry experts have attributed Tesla’s decline in the country to Germans being upset with Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s meddling in local elections and promoting the far-right AfD party.

'World's largest anti-Elon Musk protest' as Tesla driver carves infamous salute onto beach

A campaign group has carried out what it claims to be the world's largest anti-Elon Musk protest after carving an enormous message to the billionaire on a Welsh beach. A Tesla driver, known only as Prama, wrote out the words 'Don't buy Tesla' that was accompanied by the outline of a figure posing with a 'Nazi' salute.

The entire message spans 250m x 150m and was done by attaching a massive rake to the back of a Tesla Model 3. The figure is a reference to Musk, who owns Tesla, allegedly giving the infamous salute at Donald Trump's inauguration day earlier this year in January.

‘Molotov cocktails and firearms’ used in car fires at Tesla center in Las Vegas, police say

Las Vegas police and the FBI are investigating a fire involving several vehicles at a Tesla Collision Center in Las Vegas.

The fire was reported Tuesday around 2:45 a.m. During a news conference, Assistant Sheriff Dorie Koren said police learned of the fire after receiving several 911 calls.

“One caller said they heard gunshots and that there was a subject wearing black clothing and setting multiple vehicles on fire,” he said.

Police said the suspect can be seen in a video released during the news conference. Five vehicles were damaged.

“He used what appeared to be multiple Molotov cocktails and firearms to conduct his attack, Koren said. “At least five Tesla vehicles were damaged, including the two that were engulfed in flames.”

The word “resist” was spray-painted on the Tesla center’s front doors. Police said an un-ignited Molotov cocktail was found in one of the cars.

Early Tesla investor calls for Elon Musk to resign amid stock slump
Elon Musk is practically synonymous with Tesla — and that's become a problem for at least one major investor.

It's gotten so bad that one of Tesla's earliest investors has called for Musk to step down. Ross Gerber said in an interview with Sky News that Musk's role in the U.S. government — notably the (extremely) divisive Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) — and close ties to President Donald Trump have damaged Tesla.

"I think Tesla needs a new CEO and I decided today I was going to start saying it and so this is the first show that I'm saying it on," Gerber said on air with Sky News' Business Live. "It's time for somebody to run Tesla. The business has been neglected for too long."

Musk Set to Get Access to Top-Secret U.S. Plan for Potential War With China

Giving Elon Musk access to some of the nation’s most closely guarded military secrets is a major expansion of his role as an adviser to President Trump and highlights his conflicts of interest.

The Pentagon is scheduled on Friday to brief Elon Musk on the U.S. military’s plan for any war that might break out with China, two U.S. officials said on Thursday.

Another official said the briefing will be China focused, without providing additional details. A fourth official confirmed Mr. Musk was to be at the Pentagon on Friday, but offered no details.

Providing Mr. Musk access to some of the nation’s most closely guarded military secrets would be a dramatic expansion of his already extensive role as an adviser to President Trump and leader of his effort to slash spending and purge the government of people and policies they oppose.

It would also bring into sharp relief the questions about Mr. Musk’s conflicts of interest as he ranges widely across the federal bureaucracy while continuing to run businesses that are major government contractors. In this case, Mr. Musk, the billionaire chief executive of both SpaceX and Tesla, is a leading supplier to the Pentagon and has extensive financial interests in China.

80 Teslas damaged at Hamilton dealership, largest car vandalism reported in Canada against the U.S. company

Dozens of vehicles have been damaged at a Tesla dealership on the Hamilton Mountain, police in the Ontario city said.

It's believed to be the largest vandalism in Canada against vehicles from the U.S.-based car company.

In a news release Thursday, Hamilton Police Service said officers were called to the dealership near Lime Ridge Mall on Wednesday and "discovered upwards of 80 Tesla vehicles" parked outdoors were damaged.
