DC Cops now treating snarky notes on Tesla windshields as hate crimes

The DC police department has decided that writing snarky messages on Tesla windshields like "I love Musk and hate the Fed Gov't" is now a hate crime.

Politico reports that Mayor Muriel Bowser's administration is bending over backwards to kiss Trump's ass, terrified that Republicans might finally make good on their threats to "take over" the city. They've already torn down Black Lives Matter Plaza and memory-holed all that inconvenient "sanctuary city" stuff from their website.

But this is next-level bootlicking. The police announcement about these dangerous Tesla vandals reads like it was dictated by Elon himself, who naturally reposted it.

From Politico:
Ultimately, it's hard to separate this incident from the political travails of the city itself. Constitutionally marooned, D.C. is a place where Congress could end local democracy with a simple vote and where the president could unilaterally assume command of the police department with the stroke of a pen. During last year's campaign, Trump vowed to "take over" the city. Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert this week suggested that the GOP might rename the place the District of America.
Here's the really stupid part: While DC does list "political affiliation" as a protected category alongside race and religion, legal experts say writing mean things about Daddy Elon doesn't actually count. "I would have a hard time seeing how anti-Elon Musk graffiti would constitute political affiliation discrimination," said Michael Selmi, an Arizona State University law professor and an expert on discrimination law who apparently still believes in reality.

U.S. Diplomats Go Door-to-Door in Greenland to Find Anyone Willing to Meet the Vances. No One Was Interested

U.S. officials have reportedly been been going door-to-door in Greenland, trying to find anyone interested in a visit from Vice President J.D. Vance and Second Lady, Usha Vance. The response? No Thanks.

Greenlanders made it clear they didn’t want the visit, according to a report from Danish TV. Even Tupilak Travel, a company based in Greenland’s capital, Nuuk, initially agreed to host Usha Vance but later backed out.

On Facebook, the company explained that after further consideration, they told the U.S. Consulate they didn’t want the visit. “We cannot accept the underlying agenda and will not be part of the press show that, quite, of course, comes with it. No thanks to a nice visit… Greenland belongs to the Greenlanders,” the company said.

The cancellation happened the same day Vice President JD Vance announced he’d join his wife’s trip. “There was so much excitement around Usha’s visit to Greenland this Friday, that I decided that I didn’t want her to have all that fun by herself, and so I’m going to join her,” he said in a video on X.

The Vances, along with National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and Energy Secretary Christ Wright, were scheduled to head to Greenland on Friday, but those plans may change. The U.S. delegation was supposed to attend the Avannaata Qimusserua, one of the world’s biggest dog-sledding events, but that has also been canceled, according to USA Today.

Right now, the only stop left on their itinerary is the U.S. Space Force Base at Pituffik.

Greenlanders and Danish officials have been vocal about their disapproval of the trip. Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen slammed the U.S., accusing it of putting “unacceptable pressure” on Greenland with the planned visit.

Airline Demand Between Canada & United States Collapses, Down 70%+

Recently, I wrote about how we’re seeing a general softening of demand for travel to the United States, for a variety of reasons. There’s no denying that the most contentious situation is between Canada and the United States, and we now have some data that shows just how extreme the change in demand is.

We’ve known that travel demand between Canada and the United States has been decreasing, both by air and by roads. We’ve seen some airlines scale back their flight schedules between the two countries, and we’ve also seen a substantial decline in road border crossings. However, it looks like what we’ve seen so far is just the tip of the iceberg.

Aviation analytics company OAG has published some data on the decline in flight bookings between the countries, and it’s worse than most people probably imagined. Specifically, the company compared summer season bookings in March 2024 vs. March 2025. In other words, at this point in both years, how many people have booked transborder flights in April through September?

Well, I hope you’re sitting down. For that six month period, the number of tickets booked is down anywhere from 71.4% to 75.7%. Just as an example, April is less than a week away, and here’s how bookings between the two countries are looking:
  • In March 2024, 1,218,570 tickets had been booked for April 2024
  • In March 2025, 295,982 tickets have been booked for April 2025
  • That represents a 75.7% reduction in tickets booked

This is such a mistake on the Trump regime, this is the human form of prohibition. People hate Musk, hate his freaking guts. Hating him is cool, now that you've made it illegal, you made it easy to break the law and hip to do so. The more Trump goes in on Musk, whether its pushing his stock, peddling his cars or paddling anyone meant to Elon, the more the world will rebuke him. Keep up the good work, Trump!

A lawyer who represented SpaceX looks to downsize federal contracting watchdog

On Monday, March 24, Catherine Eschbach, the new head of a civil rights agency within the Labor Department, sent an email to her staff introducing herself and announcing her plans to downsize the agency and investigate whether the work it's been engaged in for decades is constitutional.

"I look forward to meeting and working with you as we implement the agenda that the American people elected President Trump to enact," she wrote in the email, shared with NPR by a Department of Labor employee who asked to remain anonymous to avoid retaliation.

"We will restore the agency to full compliance with its constitutional and statutory authority," concluded Eschbach.

Eschbach is now leading the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, a watchdog agency within the Department of Labor that both audits and investigates federal contractors to ensure they are obeying equal opportunity and anti-discrimination laws.

Eschbach comes to OFCCP after most recently working at private law firm Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, where she represented SpaceX in an ongoing legal battle between SpaceX and the National Labor Relations Board, an independent agency that investigates and adjudicates unfair labor practice charges. The CEO of SpaceX, Elon Musk, is also a senior adviser to President Trump.

The NLRB was examining the firings of eight SpaceX employees when the company, represented by lawyers including Eschbach, filed suit last year against the agency arguing that its structure was unconstitutional. The board dropped its opposition to SpaceX's arguments on constitutionality in court after Trump fired one of its members, but it's unclear how or when that case will be resolved.

Trump executive order on Smithsonian targets funding to programs with ‘improper ideology

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump on Thursday revealed his intention to force changes at the Smithsonian Institution with an executive order that targets funding for programs that advance “divisive narratives” and “improper ideology.”

Trump claimed there has been a “concerted and widespread” effort over the past decade to rewrite American history by replacing “objective facts” with a “distorted narrative driven by ideology rather than truth,” adding that it casts the “founding principles” of the United States in a “negative light.”

The order he signed puts Vice President JD Vance, who serves on the Smithsonian Institution’s Board of Regents, in charge of overseeing efforts to “remove improper ideology” from all areas of the institution, including its museums, education and research centers, and the National Zoo.

Trump specifically named the National Museum of African American History and Culture, which opened in 2016 near the White House, and the Women’s History Museum, which is in development.

‘So Who’s President Then?’: People React After Trump Says He Wasn’t Aware of Four US Soldiers Killed Near Belarusian Border

The deaths of four US soldiers during a training mission in Lithuania have sparked outrage, not only due to the tragedy itself but because of President Donald Trump’s shocking response to the incident.

The soldiers were confirmed dead after disappearing during a training mission in Lithuania, near the Belarusian border. They were part of a routine exercise when they went missing, along with a tank, near the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte confirmed the tragic news on March 26, 2025.

The soldiers were conducting scheduled training when they vanished. “While I was speaking, the news came out about four American soldiers who were killed in an incident in Lithuania,” Rutte said to reporters in Warsaw, Poland. “This is really terrible news, and our thoughts are with the families and loved ones.”

The US embassy in Vilnius also issued a statement identifying the soldiers as part of the 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division. “They were conducting scheduled tactical training at the time of the incident. Search and recovery efforts are underway,” the embassy said.

When asked if he had been briefed on the incident, President Donald Trump admitted he hadn’t received any information (video below). His answer immediately sent shockwaves across social media, with many people questioning his competence and leadership.

“If Trump would have read his daily briefing, he would have known about this. Instead, he was too busy watching FOX,” said user Denison Barb.

“I agree,” Aileen Blas added, saying, “My grandfather would say, ‘He’s like a broken arm: useless.'”

Others were even more outraged. “He’s the commander in chief, and he has deceased US soldiers, yet he has no clue? What is going on here, folks? This is absolutely absurd to think he has no clue about deceased US soldiers! Hasn’t been briefed? This is unacceptable and unprecedented, terrible,” wrote user David Jennison.

“Remember, he told us all that US soldiers were suckers. So why would he want to know? Am I wrong?” Michael Keegan questioned.
