SpaceX's latest Starship test flight ends with another explosion
Nearly two months after an explosion sent flaming debris raining down on the Turks and Caicos, SpaceX launched another mammoth Starship rocket on Thursday, but lost contact minutes into the test flight as the spacecraft came tumbling down and broke apart.

This time, wreckage from the latest explosion was seen streaming from the skies over Florida. It was not immediately known whether the spacecraft's self-destruct system had kicked in to blow it up.

Elon Musk mocked for failure trifecta as Twitter suffers 'major outage'

The social media site X is experiencing a "major outage," reported The Independent on Monday, and it has become another red flag that billionaire Elon Musk is not the business "genius" that he has long been touted as.

DownDetector showed the first problems began around 6 a.m. EST and it has been in and out all day. It also still refers to the site as "Twitter."

Many social media accounts on Twitter alternative BlueSky were quick to pile on the latest Musk flub, which has also included recent SpaceX rocket explosions and the sinking of electric car company Tesla's share price.

The progressive site Tennessee Holler posted, "Market down. Twitter down. Recession talk up."

They later questioned: "Pop Quiz: If Twitter never comes back online will the world be a better place?"

"Last week: SpaceX ship explodes, shutting down a huge chunk of Florida airspace. Today: X completely down. The last month: Tesla stock price down by a third. Gotta hand it to Musk: He really is running the government like he runs his businesses," said Georgetown law and politics professor Josh Chafetz.

It takes a minute sometimes to decide whether an Elon-centric story goes here in his solo feature or in the trump/Elon collab thread. 😛

This piece shares some background on the socially warped billionaire Nutty Nazi genius dipshit as seen through the eyes of Elon's cofounder of LinkedIn.

Also, you may enjoy this relevant piece on the dark triangle, a "study cards" type summary of some of the co-mingling cognitive-emotional traits evident in trump, musk, Putin, and many prominent influential douchebags (as well as just peeps of more average social impact) in and out of maga.

It's so bad Elon got his guy Trump to buy a Tesla and do an ad at the Whitehouse.

Judge orders DOGE and Elon Musk to turn over documents, answer written questions

A federal judge has ordered that Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency turn over a wide array of records and answer questions about plans it crafted to downsize federal agencies, fire employees and suspend federal contracts.

U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan’s order Wednesday is a win for a group of 14 Democratic state attorneys general who are suing President Donald Trump, Musk and DOGE, arguing that Musk has unconstitutionally wielded immense power in ways that are damaging their states. Any information the states glean as a result of Chutkan’s decision will help her determine whether to block Musk and DOGE’s government activities altogether.

It’s the first time a judge has ordered Musk to produce documents in a court challenge to his aggressive campaign to slash and reshape the federal bureaucracy. Chutkan indicated her order was primarily aimed at identifying the DOGE officials Musk has embedded across the government and details about the “parameters of DOGE’s and Musk’s authority.”

Chutkan, an appointee of President Barack Obama, gave Musk and DOGE three weeks to comply with the so-called discovery requests.

She turned down the states’ request to force sworn testimony at this stage of the case. And she emphasized that Trump himself does not have to respond to the written questions or document demands.

The Trump administration has tried to resist legal discovery concerning Musk’s activities by describing him as a senior White House adviser.
