Am I the only one that does not think Hendrickson is that good? Not saying he isn't a quality DE, but the trade and $$$ compensation do not line up with the player I've seen. Maybe I am missing something.
His highlight videos aren't super sexy like say a Micah Parsons, but Hendrickson is the REAL DEAL. Very much worth whatever he's asking for. Not holding my breath on us landing him, but if we did, I'd be super ecstatic.

We emphasized run stopping in the off season. I think the plan is to try to manufacture pass rush with blitzes and hope improved secondary coverage helps as well.

He's extremely good. He led the league in sacks and pressure win rate, resulting in a 1st team All Pro. If you watch his tape or highlights you see has a major motor, has several moves and counter moves, can rush outside or in, great at handwork and keeping Tackles out of his pads, great bend around the edge.
Thanks, that's some good insight for sure.

I guess for me, I have watched him play a lot living in the Baltimore region and seeing lots of AFC north games. I have NEVER felt like he tilts a game like other premier pass rushers. Felt that way when he played Washington last year, and I am fairly sure he got a sack that game. I think it is unfair to compare him to Garrett or Parsons, but I think Danielle Hunter, Watt, and Bosa are fair comps and I don't see anything close to that. I'm probably missing something, as my opinion seems to be an outlier.

Hendrickson had more sacks, QB pressures, and QB hits than either Garrett or Parsons last season. I get that you don't think he's all that great, but it's sort of hard to completely hand-wave those numbers away. Especially when it's not just one stat, but all three of the major ones for pass rushers.

...while having far-and-away less other D talent around him to draw off attention...

I think those talking points are excellent and exactly what I was looking for since it seems I have a minority opinion of the player. Sack #'s can be misleading, but if you're checking off boxes in other closely related data points then that has to mean something. On the flip side, it also shows numbers are not everything, as no one would value Hendrickson over Parsons or Garrett, regardless of those stats.
