He's got such a baby face. He's only 21 (turns 22 in May). Give him a couple years to fill out and develop physically and he's gonna lock down RT for the next decade. But he also may end up playing G to start off.

I didn't see the social media response. I'll just say, in the moment, I was disappointed because I 1000% wanted a trade down, and failing that an edge or a CB. However, I wasn't irate or anything, and I understand the process here, even if I disagree w/some of the takes I've heard on it (including it's a win now move). I think its the opposite of of a win now move, I think it's a conceding '25 move, which is focusing the future of the team on protecting Daniels, period. We lost Cosmi, we brought in Tunsil, now we bring in more depth that can swing between Guard and Tackle like Coleman. I'm not saying this is a pure concession on '25, so much as anyone rational should understand, we simply don't have the draft capital, with this move, to address critical issues at Edge and DB. The Defense is going to be ----, again, and this D aint winning any NFC Conference Championship or Super Bowl, I imagine we will likely float down to a more reasonable 8-11 win season, and an exit from the playoffs if we make it in the first or second round.

That's fine. The reality right now is we are trying to build Daniels an offense, and protect his health. What bothers me is that we haven't really fixed, at all, and have probably to some extent actually regressed on D (having lost our best Edge to FA). But I also don't care too much since I didn't think we had a chance in hell of making the conference championship or Super Bowl anyway. The only reason I could imagine we might make such a run, isn't our quality, it's more the lack of quality in the NFC compared to the AFC. The NFC has the Eagles, and Detroit, and that's a wrap. It is an exceptionally weak conference, but as is, the best we are is maybe 3rd to 6th best in the conference.

That's fine, from what I've read this guy sounds like he's at worst, an average OT, with the chance to be a pretty good Guard too. So be it. I'm cool with that. I just would have used the draft capital on defense, and preferably a trade down. At this point we have Edge/DB/RB concerns and maybe TE concerns, and we won't be able to effectively address any of them barring a big hit with our 2nd. The draft capital we have might get us a depth piece or two and 1 Defensive starter, or a satellite back. Basically, none of our needs, save possibly 1, we'll be effectively addressed by the draft, if you're cool with that, the picks fine, if you're not, the pick isn't. I'm relatively fine with it because Daniels is the most valuable thing on the roster, and without him this is a 4 win team again, so protecting him is the #1 priority, especially with Cosmi gone.

I wanted Will Johnson(but there are reports of a lingering knee injury), but this is the pick. Now you have him, and Tunsil as bookends. You can kick Coleman inside to guard and you are now cooking. Cosmi will be back sometime this season and all of a sudden you can block the Eagles defensive front.

Feels like an eye towards 2026, when hopefully everyone's healthy (Cosmi's done for '25 ) and we have average to elite OL's at every position to go with swing skills from multiple dudes. Since everything is riding on Daniels, I see it as a long term selection for Daniels and for the '26 and '27 and '28 seasons in particular. I'm okay with that.

I'd expect Cosmi to miss a significant portion of the year but then there are other articles like this one from SI that says something totally differnt.

This will be a dominant OL...in 2026. Will take a year for everyone to get acclimated and Cosmi to recover more from injury. We will essentially have FOUR new starters on the OL on opening day.

From the reports I've read and a couple people I've talked to.. I see him coming back Mid octoberish. His ACL surgery went really well, and 9 months is a good timeline for him.

I'm pretty highly skeptical. The injury occurred in January, not September or October. As such, I fully expect him to be unavailable at least until late in the season (November/December) and not himself until '26. If we can get him back by Thanksgiving, that could help, but yeah, the OL as an intact force at full capacity is not gonna be thing until '26, if then (cluster injuries are a thing with the lines ). Too many legs and arms tangled up in small area's makes for a heavy commonality of injury.
