Brown is barely better then a JAG and it took him four years to get there. He's AT BEST a WR3 on a good team but he's really a WR4. Let some other team fall in love with his two good playoff games and overpay him.

We seem committed to Coleman developing at LT, but it wouldn't shock me if we tried to upgrade at RT. Interior OL is rock solid at worst and top 3-5 in the league at best.
Interior is NOT rock solid, Cosmi is injured and probably won’t be ready for week 1 and Allegretti is what we thought he was, a great backup below average starter… yeah we could do worse and Wylie would be my upgrade target, but interior beef is a major need…
While Wylie's overall wasn't the greatest he didn't allow a single sack this year (first among all Tackles). For all intents and purposes I wouldn't look to upgrade RT just for continuity sake. If Cosmi comes back strong, the strength of our line rests between Bia, Cos, and Wylie. Allegretti definitely needs to be upgraded however, and Coleman while serviceable at LT, is not what I want blocking JD5s blind side for years to come. Allowing 9 sacks on the year he was one of the worst tackles graded by PFF in that regard.

Its rock solid relative to the rest of the league. I don't think you guys understand how...shaky OL play around the league is. You have a few powerhouse OLs like Philly, Detroit and what not but a lot of OLs are crap and about 28 different fan bases every complain about their OL. The Ts are a weak link but the interior is above average with a healthy Cosmi. I do agree Cosmi's injury changes things but I don't think he'll miss more than a month or so.

We need to start drafting and developing OL and building up a pipeline. That's how you maintain a good OL. Look at the Eagles. Their LT, LG, and C are all mid to late round picks and their RG is a former 1st round bust T that got converted. Only Lane Johnson the RT is a high draft pick. But they draft and develop these guys and groom them while having starters already entrenched. That's the best method, as opposed to relying on FA every year. Last year we had no choice because the roster was so bare but with guys like Allagretti and Wylie in place, now is the time to start drafting younger guys that can be developed.

For several years it bother me that we didn't have mid-late round OL in the pipeline as you described. I won't pretend I have the knowledge to rate all the other team's interior OL, I just know ours is not rock solid and I highly doubt it's top 3-5 .

I watch a ton of football (had Sunday Ticket this year and quad boxed quite a bit) and there are a lot of bad OLs. And browsing across other team's forums/subreddits, the only fan bases that didn't complain about their OL was Philly and Detroit. Even KC fans trashed their OL this year even though the last few years its been real good (a guy we all wanted to draft Kingsley Suamatia was apparently so bad that he's been demoted to 3rd string, so us getting Brandon Coleman in comparison is looking real good).

I'll take your word for it. Fans definitely do complain about their team's OL, but some of those fans could be complaining about tackles. With Jalen Carter standing between us and a division crown we need better than average players on the interior.

I was not aware that Wylie did not give up a sack all season. I knew he wasn't really a problem but that was encouraging. Still i want more good players on this line and across the roster, too many average players on that OL. But let's not forget how well they played early in the year.

I'm willing to roll with Coleman at LT again for another year. His play was encouraging for a rookie who missed time. I desperately want Lucas to return, he is incredibly valuable and not appreciated enough. But we will keep a close eye on Coleman, he needs to improve. I think it's clear that LG is a position that we should upgrade, we need a good players on the OL with hopefulll a stud in there as well, some how some way we need this.

I’m not mad at home for wanting to get all he could get; this contract might be his last chance to sell high. But that being said, unless he wants to give the commanders the “we are building something and I want to chase a championship” discount, Dyami Brown can try his luck on a different team. I don’t think he is a huge upgrade over whatever else will be available in free agency for cheaper.

This was a good clip, thanks for posting. At the end I had to kind of gag as Payne was credited with being good against the run and how the run defense "crumbled" when he was out against the Eagles. The run defense was also crumbling when Daron Payne was playing.
