Pakistan says 3 Indian planes downed.
Eight people were killed, including children, and 35 injured, Pakistan’s military spokesperson said after India launched military strikes on targets in Pakistan early Wednesday.
India targeted six locations with 24 strikes in both Pakistan and Pakistan administered-Kashmir, spokesperson Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said in a news conference early Wednesday.
Previously, Pakistan said five locations were struck. India has said nine sites in total were targeted.
Five people were killed, including a 3-year-old girl, in Ahmadpur East, in Pakistan’s Punjab Province, Chaudhry said. One man was also killed in Punjab’s Muridke, a city near Pakistan’s capital Lahore.
In Pakistan administered-Kashmir, a 16-year-old girl and 18-year-old man were killed in the city of Kotli, he added.
Mosques were targeted in the strikes, according to the military spokesperson.
CNN cannot independently verify the claim.

These two fought each other about a year after each declaring themselves nuclear powers back in the late 90s.
They've also had two wars over this region before then...entirely possible it stays limited to that and making radioactive is not something either wants (not how you treat disputed territory, that's like nuking yourself almost)

India-Pakistan: 125 Jets Clash in One of Largest Dogfights in Recent History
Some 125 Indian and Pakistani fighter jets battled for over an hour in one of the biggest dogfights in recent history, according to a Pakistani security source quoted by CNN.
If the numbers of aircraft were confirmed, it would make it one of the largest air battles since World War Two.
Newsweek has reached out to the Indian and Pakistani governments for comment.
The scale of the dogfight on Wednesday underscores the intensity of the conflict between the two nuclear-armed rivals—both of which possess some of the world's largest conventional military forces—and highlights the implications of any further escalation should diplomatic efforts fail to ease tensions that erupted after an attack on tourists in Indian-administered Kashmir.

Pakistani military claims it has hit multiple targets in India and Indian-administered Kashmir.
Here are five Indian military targets they say they have struck:
Brigade Headquarters KG Top
Field supply depot Uri
Artillery Gun Position Derangyari
BrahMos battery site Nagrota
Udhampur air field
These are locations near or along the de-facto border that divides the disputed Kashmir region between New Delhi and Islamabad.
The Pakistan military said in an “eye for eye” retaliation, they targeted the Indian air bases that were used to launch missiles on Pakistan. CNN cannot independently verify Pakistan’s claim regarding India’s strikes. CNN has reached out to India’s Ministry of Defense and the Indian Air Force for a response.
