I think we can get a good edge at 61. If not BPA we can always sign Za'Darius Smith. I think we are looking BPA as Edge and RB in the 2nd and 4th

Ollie Gordon reminds me of Ronnie Brown. He's got that tall, kind of lanky power-running style with that little bit of forward lean that reminds me of the big runningbacks from the aughts. Even Reggie Bush kind of ran a little bit like that. The ball looks loose in his hands but I'm not really seeing any fumbles.

This guy would be a really interesting Day 3 pick.

He seems pretty cocky though. Definitely some nastiness in the way he competes.

As a watcher of a lot of B12 football, Ollie Gordon might have been a Day 1/2 pick last year. His play this year was detrimental to his stock though and despite injuries I think it changed how people valued him.

If he's the 2023 version, you'd get a huge steal on Day 3 this year.

Landon Jackson is my pick if we go Edge. He's big and strong and can actually play all 3 downs (as opposed to Ez who is a pass rush specialist and too undersized to be a full time DE).

But if Treveyon Henderson is there I'm taking him. A Daniels/Henderson backfield behind our OL is going to wreck the league.

Sure we'll give up 30 points a game. But we'll score 35.
I'm thinking Henderson is the only RB I like for us in the second. I'm a Skattebo guy, but everything in the world has him going in the 3rd-4th at the earliest. I have to assume that's his value, in which case I'd be targeting him with that pick at 128.

Henderson at 61 feels like a clear-cut BPA situation, and I definitely like him over Kaleb Johnson. I would probably go with Watts or Mukuba over him at 61, but I can't really think of any more names than that.

It's going to be weird not having to watch or worry about the offensive tackles in a draft class for the next several years. We're at the point where studs like TreVeyon aren't luxury picks entailing a worrisome level of neglect on our lines.

TreVeyon is going to be one of the first players picked in the second round. No way we're getting him.

At 61, we're probably looking at that next tier of RB: Judkins, Sampson, Johnson, Tuten. I don't feel as great about this group of players, they all have important flaws IMO, and I'm not convinced any of them are better than Skattebo. I guess I would prefer Sampson from this group. I love his creativity and the way he paces his runs. But just doesn't have the acceleration or top gear that the other guys do, so it's kind of like why spend a second on that kind of back?

I'm sticking with the take that the only RB I really like for us in the second round is Henderson, and that he's not going to be there.

Yeah GC, no way Henderson lasts to us. He'll get scooped up by the Bears (who have two seconds). I figure we will try to trade down hard considering the sheer amount of time we were on the clock last night (we didn't get any offers that were satisfactory). I really want a RB in this draft. It's a major need. We need to just cut B-Rob frankly. He sucked in the 2nd half and his mental lapses (like running into Mariotta on the fake sneak) were just inexcusable.

Fwiw I think RBs like LaQuint Allen or Jaydon Blue might end providing more value later on than taking a RB at the end of Round 2.

Breer who is very plugged in

The Browns and Houston Texans, the teams with the first two picks in the second round, were in discussions on trades with the teams at the bottom of the first round Thursday night—and the belief is their mutual target was Oregon OT Josh Conerly Jr.

Obviously, any hope of that dissipated when Conerly was taken 29th by the Washington Commanders, but it does inform you on the chance that either team targets the position tonight.

It had to hurt for both teams not to get him, with the dropoff that’s apparent at tackle after five went in the first round. The next group includes Boston College’s Ozzy Trapilo, who’s considered a low-risk, high-floor type of player, as well as Minnesota’s Aireontae Ersery and NC State’s Anthony Belton, both of whom carry some football-character concerns.

If mocks are close to on the money 5th-6th range for L. Allen. Blue 4th-5th.
