They must really like McGee, because we have nothing at LB after Wagner & Luvu after him. I figure they have young LB targeted for next year then. We'll probably try our hardest to trade down, but we might be stuck.skinsinparadise wrote: Fri Apr 18, 2025 7:12 amPauine is hit and miss. But on this one, I buy since Keim has been on Felton for awhile. I mentioned it the other day, too. Keim also doesn't think they are married to getting a WR per Pauline's point, but they wll do it if the board falls that way. He thinks especially for a WR, they'd want to add picks to make room because everything equal their top desires are: CB, D line, O line, RB. But sounds like Wr is next after those.

Watched some Jahdae Barron last night, wow, the instincts this dude has as far as stopping things underneath. He is all over the ball and feisty as heck as far as disrupting plays. Seems to have great ball skills, too. Made a sick almost pick and then had another taken away for a penalty in one game. Still had 5 picks. Sub 4.4 speed. Short arms though.
I can't really think of an easy comp for him. He's more coverage driven than a downhill run stopper hybrid. A nightmare lol for teams like ours who like to throw a lot of underneath stuff. Zone beater.
Mocks have him go early. But the scouts for McGinn even though they like him think he might go late first. Add to that this team brought him to their top golf event a couple days ago, so aybe there is a chance?

I got to get to watch him, Keim mentioned in the later rounds they have interest in...
Barron appears to be CB1. I don't see him getting past Miami's first rounder but he could go as high as San Fran.skinsinparadise wrote: Fri Apr 18, 2025 7:34 amWatched some Jahdae Barron last night, wow, the instincts this dude has as far as stopping things underneath. Probably but as almost every mock draft guy with sources with the league have said in some way or another, people are going to be shocked how different the draft is going to go compared to the mocks this year, expect to be shocked. McGinn's scouts top 100 tend to be a better predictor versus the mocks in a normal year. This year I gather they might be even more on the money versus mocks. If so Barron is #4 on their CB board.
Also considering this team brought him to their top golf event just two days ago, I doubt it was for kicks where they are convinced he's for sure going way ahead of their pick but lets bring him in anyway.
Maybe its meaningless and the mocks beat the leaks from scouts from the league. But considering even some mock draft types are making the same point, this draft is unlikely going to go as close to script as normal -- am taking the different reports (not just from McGinn) about how scouts are higher on this or that player compared to the draft media.
For example why could Barron drop? He's on the smaller size length wise and he's likely a slot. I recall the year where some mocks for example were talking about Branch as a top 20 pick. He ended up going in the 2nd round. So late first for Barron might not be crazy, will see.
Yeah for sure. This is gonna be one of those drafts that ends up WAY off from the mocks. I'm pretty confident in about the first 5 or 6 picks but then after that you could see all hell break loose.skinsinparadise wrote: Fri Apr 18, 2025 10:50 amProbably but as almost every mock draft guy with sources with the league have said in some way or another, people are going to be shocked how different the draft is going to go compared to the mocks this year, expect to be shocked. Loveland's ceiling IMO is higher than Taylor. But Taylor is in my book a rare high floor TE. With Taylor he's so adept at getting open for quick outs. My issue with him is he majors in that too much -- you don't see much explosive plays. Not a bad YAC guy but a straight line runner so is limited. Decent blocker.
Loveland is so good at seperating, great catch radius. He gets knocked by some for his blocking but IMO he's a good blocker. I would easily take him over Taylor albiet if there are injury concerns that are that deep -- I'd get it if Taylor went first.
