So I turned 50 in January and of course that means I needed to do a serious introspection on my life.
I was a scrawny kid (135-140lbs) through high school and probably only got up to 160lb in college. But my adult life has been different as the metabolism slowed and when I got on the scales a month or two back I realized I'm pushing 220, which puts me 50lbs over being healthy (ideal weight). No bueno.
What to do? I have the Dad figure so almost all my weight is my gut. I hate running. Hate. Hate Hate. Tried rowing last year and while I enjoyed it, I just couldn't make it stick. Maybe the gen-x lazy gene is too strong in this one.
Do I just start walking more? I know diet is part of it but not all. Push-ups, etc..and what else that is most efficient at this age?
