Old news, but I keep thinking of how big a deal it may be in terms of dulling our new found faith and belief in this f.o. and coaching staff if our two biggest FA moves don't pan out.

The Kinlaw deal is def the one that most analysts have the strongest criticisms of, especially considering how he floundered at the Jets even with a strong supporting cast.

Kinlaw strongly declares he knows the team has stuck their neck out making him very well treated financially and how they've stated their unequivocal belief in him. He claims he's appropriately grateful, inspired, and motivated. He says he cares a great deal about the current negative perceptions of both his effort and talent as a player.

Deebo's case isn't as extreme a gamble, but still similar enough, given how numerous our needs are (imo).

This next season includes a harder schedule, some increasingly aging returning vets at key positions, and defenses with a lot more tape and experience re: JD. I also think we (finally) had a fair share of breaks to get as far as we did last year.

I see both the cowpies and the ignats to be better than last year. And the eagles may have lost key assistant coaches but boy that roster is still killer.

We need both our big FA moves (and I'd call them reaches in terms of capital invested, though deebo clearly less so than kinlaw) to fully deliver. 🤞🤞🤞

No faith is more vulnerable to doubt than the newfound variety lwe have now, after decades of consistent disappointment.

The Commanders have gone outside the usual football development system for the latest addition to their roster.

The team announced the signing of T.J. Maguranyanga on Thursday. Maguranyanga, who is listed as a defensive end, is part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway program for the the 2025 season.

Maguranyanga is a rugby player from Zimbabwe who has played professionally in France. He was selected for the IPP program late last year and has been training at the IMG Academy in Florida along with other aspiring football players.

Agreed on what's riding on the FA signings.

I think Kinlaw will be a headscratcher until all of the tiles are rearranged, from what scheme to weak/strong side to who's beside him and behind him, and then we'll be able to see what the idea is.

When they moved Jamin to DE, you could almost hear the shoulder shrug when asked about it, be it DQ or AP. They knew it was his best shot and that he wasn't gonna have a great chance, but he was in the pantry when they moved in.

For Kinlaw, he was actively selected. I think that they wouldn't have gotten him had they not already known what they would do with him. As long as they don't play him like the Jets did, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

At least until OTA's are done in Madden.
