One of the many pervasive negative traits found in maga republicans is a stunningly immense level of hypocrisy.
All the glee they showed over instances of judges ruling against various executive orders or legislation the Biden admin tried to implement have turned to cries of "judicial tyranny" and "illegal interference with the mandate of an elected president."
Life in Post Democracy Era: The Trump 2/Elon Dictatatorship
...and a complete separation from reality. If Biden had done 10% of the crap Tя☭mp is doing, they'd be up in arms going on about tyranny and 2nd amendment solutions. How to we know this? Because neither Biden nor Obama before him did anything nearly as anti-democracy as Tя☭mp has done and that was the reaction. Imagine if the next Dem POTUS (if such a thing ever happens) were to do what I've been calling for and uses the same playbook to get what we want.Jumbo wrote: Wed Mar 19, 2025 6:02 pmOne of the many pervasive negative traits found in maga republicans is a stunningly immense level of hypocrisy.

Trump set to sign executive order shuttering the Department of Education
President Donald Trump is expected to sign an executive order Thursday to close the Department of Education, fulfilling a years-long pledge to dismantle the federal agency, the White House confirmed.
Trump will hold an event at the White House to sign the order directing Secretary of Education Linda McMahon to “take all necessary steps to facilitate the closure the Department of Education and return education authority to the States, while continuing to ensure the effective and uninterrupted delivery of services, programs, and benefits on which Americans rely.”
USA Today first reported Trump's plans to sign the order on Thursday.
McMahon recently moved to drastically reduce the size of the Education Department by cutting its workforce in half. She called the job terminations the first step toward shutting down the department.
"That was the President’s mandate," McMahon said last week in an interview with Fox News. "His directive to me, clearly, is to shut down the Department of Education, which we know we’ll have to work with Congress, you know, to get that accomplished."
I'm sure that's a lawsuit waiting to happen.Simmsy wrote: Wed Mar 19, 2025 7:41 pmTrump set to sign executive order shuttering the Department of Education

But nobody should be surprised, they want an uneducated populace so they don't know or understand enough to know when they're being fooled, lied to and shat upon.

Did Trump forget what happened during covid? Parents were ready to murder their children because they stayed home for so long. I hope he does this (doubt he'll be able to pull it off), people will revolt of they have to spend THAT much amount of time with their children. I hope it would take effect right after summer, when parents have had enough and are dying to get their kids back into school.China wrote: Wed Mar 19, 2025 8:17 pmI'm sure that's a lawsuit waiting to happen.Simmsy wrote: Wed Mar 19, 2025 7:41 pmTrump set to sign executive order shuttering the Department of Education

This brings me to something I said five years ago during covid: the teachers have to stand up for themselves this time around. Sorry, but last time, they just complained and did the job. This time, complain and go on strike. Don't pussy foot around this time, the parents only care about the kids going to school, they don't care what the teachers have to go thru. Use your power.
