We picked up cb Jonathan Jones (nine yrs on patriots) in what may be another "budget friendly solid vet at a need area" deals. Guys been steady and versatile over time.

From what I've seen, he's very popular in NE as a person and player. So at bare minimum it looks like we got a solid player who's also a great culture addition.

Didn't think he was coming back. He seemed pissed on X that he wasn't appreciated by the 'manders.

Source: Pass rusher Dante Fowler Jr., Cowboys reach deal

FRISCO, Texas -- Having lost veteran DeMarcus Lawrence to the Seattle Seahawks, the Dallas Cowboys turned to a familiar face in agreeing to a one-year deal with pass rusher Dante Fowler, according to a source.

Fowler played for the Cowboys in 2022 and 2023 before leaving with former defensive coordinator Dan Quinn to the Washington Commanders last year and putting up 10.5 sacks.

Fowler's deal is worth $6 million and can move to $8 million based on incentives.

I think Kupp would have been a good addition, but I'm assuming we weren't especially into giving him a multi-year deal right now, given his injury history. I'm sure we kicked the tires, though. Seems like we may be more or less done with WR after trading for Deebo and re-signing Noah Brown. But damn if that receiver room doesn't still look a bit anemic.

I think it will be alright.

Last year, the only name WR we had was McLaurin, and the offense cooked pretty good.

I expect it to do better with Deebo now here and Tunsil anchoring the line.
