The Egocentric Eccentric Exploits of Elon
What 130-day cap? Musk is ‘here to stay’ in the Trump admin, adviser says
For six weeks, members of the Trump White House who have grown weary of Elon Musk’s disruptive style have taken solace in the fact that he serves as a temporary government employee, with a 130-day cap.
But a White House official now says there is no known end date on Musk’s tenure.
“No one here at the White House is tired of winning. The president has tasked Elon Musk with eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government, a mission that will continue until completed,” said deputy press secretary Harrison Fields.
Musk’s “special government employee” designation as leader of the Department of Government Efficiency means he isn’t subject to the same financial disclosures as full-time government employees. But it also comes with a work limit: 130 days out of a 365-day year.
Because of that time limit, questions have swirled around how long Musk can and will serve at DOGE, which has dramatically reshaped the federal government by firing thousands of government workers and demanding others justify the job performance via email.
But it’s become increasingly clear inside the White House that Musk will blow past the 130-day limit and stay around as long as President Donald Trump lets him.
“There are likely people who are counting the days until 130 days are up and will push against keeping him around, but I just think that’s a losing battle,” said an outside political adviser close to the president, granted anonymity to discuss internal dynamics.
Musk, the person said, is “here to stay."

US senator joins Elon Musk in calling for withdrawal from NATO
Elon Musk shared his support for the US leaving NATO and the UN on Saturday night and was joined in the cause by Utah Sen. Mike Lee.
The head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) took to X to write “I agree” to a post stating “It’s time to leave NATO and the UN”
Musk is joined by several Republican lawmakers, such as Lee, who have questioned U.S. membership of NATO.
Lee, who has criticized NATO for quite some time, has said that the alliance is a “great deal for Europe” but a “raw deal for America.” He has suggested that US resources are being used to defend Europe while doing little to protect America.
“Get us out of NATO,” Lee wrote on X on Saturday.
Musk’s statement comes as the Trump administration is making clear that it may turn its back on its traditional allies. That includes America’s future in NATO.
Lee said on X that it was a “good time” to leave the alliance. Trump has on many occasions pushed European nations to spend more on defense, arguing that the US is carrying too heavy a burden to keep the alliance safe.

Apparently these dumbasses are not aware that:
Section 1250A (22 U.S.C. § 1928f) of the National Defense Authorization Act prevents the President from withdrawing from NATO without approval of a two-thirds Senate supermajority or an act of Congress.
That ain't happenin'.

Trump puts new limits on Elon Musk
President Donald Trump convened his Cabinet in person on Thursday to deliver a message: You’re in charge of your departments, not Elon Musk.
According to two administration officials, Trump told top members of his administration that Musk was empowered to make recommendations to the departments but not to issue unilateral decisions on staffing and policy. Musk was also in the room.
The meeting followed a series of mass firings and threats to government workers from the billionaire Tesla founder, who helms the Department of Government Efficiency, that created broad uncertainty across the federal government and its workforce.
DOGE’s actions have faced ferocious resistance in court and criticism from Democratic lawmakers and some Republicans.
The president’s message represents the first significant move to narrow Musk’s mandate. According to Trump’s new guidance, DOGE and its staff should play an advisory role — but Cabinet secretaries should make final decisions on personnel, policy and the pacing of implementation.

Elon Musk wants to save Western civilization from empathy
Americans are still in the dark about the scope and scale of what Elon Musk is doing with DOGE, the Department of Government Efficiency, which is working to drastically shrink the size of government by aiming to cut $1 trillion or more in government spending.
But there’s some insight into what’s driving Musk — namely, an effort to combat what he referred to as “civilizational suicidal empathy.”
During a three-hour interview with the podcaster Joe Rogan released February 28, Musk talked about his deeply held belief in the conspiracy theory that Democrats are working to import as many undocumented immigrants as possible so that they can take over the US government forever.
“If they had another four years, they would legalize enough illegals in the swing states to make the swing states not swing states,” Musk told Rogan. “They would just, they would be blue states. Then they would … win the presidential; they’d win the House, the Senate and the presidency.”
It’s a wild idea along the same lines as the debunked “replacement theory.” And there are many factual holes in the theory, starting with the fact that it’s illegal for noncitizens to vote in federal elections and there’s no direct pathway to citizenship for people who enter the country illegally.
But what came next in the conversation may shine more of a light on what motivates Musk to cut down the size of government, and it melds with his takeover, purchase and founding of companies in the private sector. It’s the belief that empathy for individuals is costly to the collective.
Musk pointed to California’s move to provide medical insurance even to undocumented people who qualify for its low-income Medi-Cal program.
“We’ve got civilizational suicidal empathy going on,” Musk said, borrowing the term from Gad Saad, a Canadian scholar who is also a frequent Rogan host.
While Musk said he believes in empathy and that “you should care about other people,” he also thinks it’s destroying society.
“The fundamental weakness of Western civilization is empathy, the empathy exploit,” Musk said. “There it’s they’re exploiting a bug in Western civilization, which is the empathy response.”
Empathy, he said, has been “weaponized.”

Yeah, not going to work and Trump doesn't mean it. At best, he's trying to save his ass from admitting that Elon was the head of doge (its not a noun, it doesn't deserve it) in his SOTU speech. Musk won't listen, Trump doesn't care to stop him and doesn't have the leverage to do so.China wrote: Thu Mar 06, 2025 2:49 pmTrump puts new limits on Elon Musk

SpaceX's latest Starship test flight ends with another explosion
Nearly two months after an explosion sent flaming debris raining down on the Turks and Caicos, SpaceX launched another mammoth Starship rocket on Thursday, but lost contact minutes into the test flight as the spacecraft came tumbling down and broke apart.
This time, wreckage from the latest explosion was seen streaming from the skies over Florida. It was not immediately known whether the spacecraft's self-destruct system had kicked in to blow it up.
Elon Musk Claims Organization Funded by George Soros Is Responsible for Tesla Protests
Elon Musk has accused organizations allegedly funded by billionaire George Soros of orchestrating anti-Tesla protests, claiming a coordinated effort to damage the company's reputation and stock value.
Tesla has seen its public perception shift dramatically following Musk's vocal support for Donald Trump and far-right politics. Once a symbol of sustainability for liberal consumers, Tesla is now facing boycotts, vandalism and mass sell-offs.
The company's stock has plummeted 38% since Trump's inauguration, exacerbating financial losses and investor uncertainty, the Economic Times reported. Meanwhile, ActBlue, the Democratic fundraising platform Musk linked to the protests, is under investigation for allegedly accepting illegal foreign donations.
On Saturday, Musk posted on X alleging that groups like Indivisible Project and Democratic Socialists of America are being funded by Soros and other liberal donors to stage protests against Tesla.
