Unless you meant that tongue in cheek, I think the author makes a very valid point. I disagree with how s/he arrived at some conclusions, e.g., including the unemployed in average or median wages. I have to go be with Mrs. Sisko for V-Day but I’ll revisit this later.

Judge Who Made Life Hell for Trump Will Oversee Case on Elon Musk

A major lawsuit to end Elon Musk’s takeover of the federal government has landed before one of Donald Trump’s least favorite judges.

Judge Tanya Chutkan, who presided over Trump’s federal election interference case, was assigned the federal lawsuit filed by 14 states against the president and Musk, attacking the so-called Department of Government Efficiency’s authority.

Chutkan gained the national spotlight as she refused to accept arguments from Trump’s legal team at nearly every step in the January 6 case. She infuriated Trump when she placed a gag order on him in October 2023 and said that his presidential candidacy did not give him “carte blanche” to vilify public servants “who are simply doing their job.” Trump lashed out at the judge, calling her “the most evil person” as she seemed unwilling to bend to the Supreme Court’s immunity ruling.

This is different from the last lawsuit I posted. Apparently, Trump's team is getting bogged down by the lawsuits. I expect them to start ignoring them soon.

'Will not make it through': Georgia Republicans urge Trump to reconsider Helene aid denial

Georgia — which was ravaged by Hurricane Helene last fall — is still counting on billions of dollars in federal aid to recover from the disaster. However, President Donald Trump's administration is reportedly stonewalling new requests for assistance.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Friday that Trump rebuffed a request from Georgia Republican Governor Brian Kemp to allow cities more time to apply for relief. This is despite the Peach State reeling from what the University of Georgia estimates to be roughly $5.5 billion in damage to its agriculture and forestry industries alone. Kemp's request was specifically limited to debris removal and emergency protective measures.

"Based on our review of all the information available, it has been determined that the increased level of funding you have requested ... is not warranted," acting Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) administrator Cameron Hamilton wrote in a letter to Kemp.
