There used to be a rule not allowing players to push/drag other players to gain yardage. It was taken out of the rulebook I believe in the early 2000s but I'm not completely sure on the exact specifics.Warhead36 wrote: Tue Jan 28, 2025 8:35 amThey won't ban the tush push. How would you go about enforcing that? Its essentially a QB sneak which has been going on for years. The Eagles are just perfectly built for it, but other teams routinely fail(see Buffalo this past Sunday).

It used to be against the rules to push the player with the ball from behind. They changed the rule in 2005. It would be pretty simple to go back to the old rule. The Eagles QB sneak would still be very effective, but you wouldn't get the effect of the other players coming and pushing him.Warhead36 wrote: Tue Jan 28, 2025 8:35 amThey won't ban the tush push. It's really more of a kneel down than a QB sneak. The way two people are lined up just behind the QB to help push him over the line makes it different than a QB sneak.Warhead36 wrote: Tue Jan 28, 2025 8:35 amThey won't ban the tush push.
