@SWIM you may have to ban people on specific rule violations. In fact, calling it, it's inevitable if we allow politics here.

There may be an archived version of ES out there to copy from, we will eventual need new mods if the old ones don't show up (of they even want to do it anymore)

All of a sudden, there were about 5 threads that were active on the homepage. Anybody starting another thread was ridiculed and admonished. Anybody with an opinion not shared by the "core members" was attacked relentlessly and shamed. It became a political forum. Outlandish personal attacks were allowed and cheered in the Tailgate. It seeped onto The Stadium, where you could get away with a snarky political comment as long as you were on the right side. It's no wonder at all that they pulled the plug. Who wants that level of hatred and vitriol associated with a football team? Good riddance.
can i offer you a hankie?

i was really depressed. I had been on that site for about 20 years... there were people that I've known, but only there, for years and years. it was a community, and it was burned to ground.

Yea, this is the feeling. It was just a few days before the election and ES was a bit part of the fabric on my online experience. Like something was taken from me. It would have been one thing if there was advanced notice, but nope. Just vanished.

I posted some there and still do at the Commanders Reddit on occasion.

I signed up with the warpath.net .

Participated in a chat Zskins posted on es Reddit on game days.
I was not upset. I knew it was going to go away. There were signs. I just hated the fact I didn't download the site to my computer as I was going to do but got extremely busy running my biz. As 88Commanders00 said, I created the Chat Room. I needed a quick solution before the next game.

I new people like @Renegade7 used Reddit a lot so I knew some ES members go there. The Chat Room was also a place I wanted ES members to come and have a place to discuss what should be the next step. BGO was mentioned. I didn't like their format and lack of activity there. I checked out other sites. Nah, I said. I even started to look for templates since I already have my own domain and a website for my IT company and getting another domain would not have been issue. Figure I do this when some of my projects gets done first so I can actually have the time to build it.

While this was happening on my side I saw one day that @SWIM had already taken the plunge and started the project. I signed up. Told people in the chatroom to come to this site as well. This site will get a face lift and look more modern in the near future. We will get there. At least we now have a new home.

But, what is more important right now is that I am so glad to see so many people from ES on here already and the Game Day Thread is jumping again. :)

Note: I was a member of ES since 2006 and no other forums.

I am trying to remember screen names, I am not great at that haha. There was some dude named doublestrok0l or something, he was cool. I know Mooka kind of well, I'll send him a message on Facebook. So many names yet hard to remember.
The screen name was: d0ublestr0ker0ll and he started a thread called Let's Talk About Pets

You can always go to the wayback machine and put in es.redskins.com and the latest snapshot of old es is from Sept of last year. You can browser through topics and get some screen name as well. :)

Wrote 2 letters to Josh Harris, explaining what ES was, how people were affected and asked if he could bring it back. Sent them Fed Ex, not sure if they ever got to his desk.

Dug up the contact information for IT people at the Commies and passed it on to TK so he could blow them up.

Still have one last hail mary up the sleeve, doubtful that it works but we've gotta give it a shot.

Clicked on the bookmark link at the top of my browser for about a week after, partially out of habit and reflex but always hoping somehow the site would be back.

Fuck reddit, I hate that place. Never once wanted to go to BGO or any of the other sites. Figured some ESers would start something like this and was happy when TK sent us a link earlier today in the group text we've got going on.

Also, I think I can speak for @Jumbo and especially TK on this one...we know it's gone. Odds are it'll never come back if it hasn't by now.

All we wanted was an answer, just a definitive "thanks, but no thanks" from the team. The mods poured their hearts and souls into that site, the members who were lucky enough to do game day coverage worked hard at it...and worked for free. I don't think we expected the new regime to understand that but pulling the plug without any warning and without any follow up as to why was the worst part.

I tried BGO, again. Its not bad but it’s like the bizarro world Seinfeld episode.

Hi everybody!
